Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior Product Designer at 1Password, you will lead the design of 0 to 1 product experiences that make security clear, usable, and trustworthy for individuals and businesses, directly contributing to the company’s mission of enabling safe digital adoption in an era of AI and SaaS proliferation.
- • You will own complex problem spaces end to end—partnering with product managers, engineers, researchers, and designers to define problems, explore opportunities, and deliver high-quality solutions aligned with customer needs and business strategy, particularly in the realm of AI agent supervision and security insight surfacing.
- • Day to day, you will own the design of significant product areas or features from discovery through delivery, driving clarity and alignment across cross-functional partners while advocating for customer needs, inclusive and accessible design practices, and balancing security, technical, and business constraints.
- • You will collaborate deeply with product managers, engineers, and researchers to shape roadmaps, define success metrics, and deliver cohesive experiences, sharing work early and often to facilitate critiques and discussions that strengthen design quality and decision-making.
- • You will maintain a high bar for design quality, usability, and consistency across surfaces and platforms, mentor and support junior designers through feedback, pairing, and knowledge sharing, and contribute to the evolution of design processes, tools, and AI-assisted workflows to improve team effectiveness.
- • You will communicate design rationale clearly to a wide range of stakeholders, influencing decisions through storytelling and evidence, while reducing the complexity of multi-agent orchestration into coherent, manageable user experiences.
- • You will join the Experience, Design and Research (EDR) team at 1Password, a human-centered design group at the heart of the company’s mission to build the foundation for a safe, productive digital future, where collaboration, curiosity, and strong design culture are valued.
- • You will work on defining mental models and holistic experiences for how humans supervise autonomous systems, building AI discovery tools, and designing intuitive ways to surface security insights that help IT and security teams spot AI-driven risk—directly supporting 1Password’s Extended Access Management category.
- • In this role, you can learn and achieve mastery in designing for high-stakes, regulated enterprise environments at the intersection of cybersecurity, AI, and SaaS, gaining exposure to cutting-edge agentic development tools and shaping long-term product and design strategy.
- • You will have the opportunity to mentor other designers, contribute to design culture and process improvements, and play a key role in connecting day-to-day work to broader company goals by Month 6+, while growing your expertise in accessibility, AI-assisted design, and security-focused UX.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of relevant design experience at a product-driven company
- • Proficiency in Figma, with hands-on experience using agentic development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, or MCP-based tools) and understanding of how AI interacts with codebases and APIs
- • A portfolio demonstrating recent project work, design process, user and business impact, and experience partnering with Engineering, Product Management, Content Design, and User Research
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive health, dental, and vision benefits, plus RRSP (Canada) or 401k (US) retirement matching programs
- • Generous paid time off (PTO) policy, paid volunteer days, and peer-to-peer recognition through Bonusly
- • Free 1Password account, RSU program for most employees, and equity grant as part of compensation
- • "selected_category": "Product Designer",
- • "parent_category": "Design",
- • "confidence": 0.98,
- • "reasoning": "The job title is 'Senior Product Designer', which is an explicit child category under the 'Design' parent category. The responsibilities center on end-to-end product design, user experience, design systems, collaboration with engineering and research, and creating human-centered security experiences—all core to product design. Although the role involves AI tools and cybersecurity context, the title and primary functions are unambiguously design-focused, making 'Product Designer' the most specific and accurate categorization."
