- • Senior Product Engineer 2 (L5) at Stepful Inc., a mission-driven EdTech and healthcare training company backed by Y Combinator and recently named the #1 EdTech company in the U.S. by TIME for 2025. This role is critical to building and scaling technology that empowers underserved learners to launch high-demand healthcare careers through innovative, AI-supported, instructor-led programs.
- • Day to day, you will develop and iterate on a world-class Learning Management System with adaptive learning, gamification, and peer engagement; apply generative AI to career services like resume generation and interview training; design internal platforms for instructors and coaches to optimize student outcomes; build scalable content pipelines for rapid curriculum development; and ensure data reliability and accessibility across teams to enable data-driven decisions.
- • You’ll join a fast-paced, ambiguous, and collaborative team that values care, rapid learning, collective ownership, and initiative. Stepful’s culture emphasizes mission-driven building, where engineers directly impact healthcare access and career mobility for learners nationwide.
- • In this role, you will deepen your full-stack expertise, lead end-to-end feature development, influence technical direction in an early-stage startup, and gain hands-on experience applying generative AI in education and workforce development — all while contributing to a meaningful social mission.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience with ownership of the full development lifecycle
- • Proficiency in React and TypeScript on the frontend
- • Familiarity with at least one backend language: Python, Node.js, or Ruby on Rails
- • Experience solving complex problems with cutting-edge technology and a strong willingness to learn
- • Comfort working in an early-stage company environment and building new systems from scratch
- • Bonus: Prior experience in a direct-to-consumer startup, especially in EdTech or healthcare
