- • Design, build, and iterate on a scalable, AI-enhanced Learning Management System (LMS) that delivers adaptive learning experiences, peer-to-peer engagement, and gamified motivational systems for healthcare career learners.
- • Develop and optimize career services tools powered by generative AI to assist graduates in resume creation, interview preparation, and matching with clinical partners such as CVS, NY-Presbyterian, HCA, Providence, and Walgreens.
- • Build and maintain internal platforms used by instructors, teaching assistants, coaches, and operations staff to monitor student progress, deliver support, and maximize learning outcomes using AI-driven insights.
- • Create and manage a high-velocity content generation and curriculum management system that enables rapid iteration of educational material in response to evolving industry standards and learner needs.
- • Design and implement robust data pipelines to ensure reliable, real-time access to learning, engagement, and workforce metrics across business, learning, and operations teams to drive data-informed decision-making.
- • Own the end-to-end development lifecycle of product features—from ideation and prototyping to deployment, monitoring, and iteration—using a full-stack approach across frontend and backend systems.
- • Work with React and TypeScript on the frontend to deliver intuitive, high-performance user interfaces for learners, instructors, and administrators.
- • Develop and maintain backend services using Python, Node.js, or Ruby on Rails to support AI workflows, data processing, and API integrations for educational and career services platforms.
- • Integrate generative AI models into core product experiences to automate and enhance tasks like personalized feedback, content generation, and job-matching algorithms.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, data science, and instructional teams to align technical execution with educational outcomes and business goals.
- • Participate in a rapid iteration cycle rooted in experimentation, data analysis, and user feedback to continuously improve learning effectiveness and student success rates.
- • Contribute to architectural decisions that ensure system scalability, security, and maintainability as Stepful expands its national footprint and learner base.
- • Drive technical innovation by staying current with emerging technologies in EdTech, AI, and workforce development, and applying them to solve real-world barriers to healthcare career access.
- • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team-wide best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment workflows.
- • Advocate for user-centered design principles across all product surfaces, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for learners from diverse backgrounds and learning needs.
- • Translate complex educational and operational requirements into clear technical specifications and deliver high-impact features with minimal supervision.
- • Maintain a bias for action in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment where priorities shift rapidly to meet organizational and learner needs.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of full-stack engineering experience with end-to-end ownership of product development
- • Expertise in React and TypeScript for frontend development
- • Proficiency in at least one backend language: Python, Node.js, or Ruby on Rails
- • Demonstrated experience building and shipping complex, data-driven web applications
- • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on leveraging cutting-edge technology to solve ambiguous, high-impact problems
- • Comfort working in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment with evolving requirements
