📋 Description

• Design, build, and scale high-performance backend services in Go to ingest, process, and query massive volumes of telemetry data for a next-generation observability platform.
• Architect and optimize data pipelines using ClickHouse to handle terabytes of daily data with low-latency querying, cost efficiency, and system reliability.
• Develop robust, microservice-based backend architecture that supports rapid feature development, seamless integration with new data sources, and future-proof scalability.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs that serve as the foundation for frontend and external integrations, ensuring clarity, consistency, and performance.
• Solve complex distributed systems challenges related to data routing, partitioning, replication, and fault tolerance in a high-throughput environment.
• Collaborate closely with product and frontend teams to translate observability user needs into scalable backend solutions that reduce developer toil.
• Improve platform performance by identifying bottlenecks in data ingestion, storage, and query execution, then implementing optimizations that reduce latency and infrastructure costs.
• Ship production-ready code within the first week and deliver significant improvements to core data pipelines within three months.
• Become a technical lead in key backend areas within six months, mentoring peers and proposing architectural innovations to address scaling challenges.
• Contribute to the evolution of Dash0’s backend architecture over the next year to enable next-generation features and maintain competitive differentiation in the observability market.
• Work in a fully remote, EMEA-based environment with a builder mindset, contributing to a product used and loved by developers worldwide.
• Engage in a culture of rapid iteration, continuous learning, and direct impact — where your code directly shapes the platform’s reliability, performance, and user experience.
• Collaborate with a team of highly skilled engineers and founders with deep observability domain expertise, backed by top-tier investors including Balderton Capital, Accel, and Cherry Ventures.
• Participate in shaping the future of OpenTelemetry-native observability with transparent pricing, vendor lock-in avoidance, and developer-centric design principles.
• Own critical components of the data engine that powers Dash0’s core functionality, ensuring the platform scales reliably as customer demand grows.
• Balance performance, cost, and maintainability when designing storage and processing solutions for high-volume telemetry data across global infrastructure.
• Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews, and incident response to ensure system resilience and knowledge sharing across the engineering team.
• Work in a fast-paced startup environment where your work directly influences product-market fit and company growth trajectory.

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive experience building and scaling distributed backend systems in Go
• Deep familiarity with high-performance columnar data stores, specifically ClickHouse
• Proven track record of designing and optimizing data pipelines for massive-scale telemetry ingestion and querying
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, RESTful APIs, and microservice architecture
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with high ownership and impact
• Passion for observability and improving developer experiences through tooling
