📋 Description
- • Lead the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for 1KOMMA5°’s Energy Utility Platform, focusing on digital solutions for residential and commercial energy customers in Germany.
- • Collaborate closely with engineering, design, data, and operations teams to define, prioritize, and deliver features that improve customer onboarding, energy consumption tracking, and billing transparency.
- • Conduct market and customer research to identify pain points in the energy utility sector, translating insights into actionable product requirements and user stories.
- • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for platform success, including customer retention, activation rates, and satisfaction scores, and use data to drive iterative improvements.
- • Work directly with utility partners and regulatory stakeholders to ensure platform compliance with German energy regulations, including EEG, EnEV, and BNetzA requirements.
- • Own the product backlog and sprint planning, ensuring alignment with quarterly business objectives and technical feasibility constraints.
- • Serve as the primary product liaison between internal teams and external clients, including municipal utilities, energy suppliers, and grid operators.
- • Analyze competitor offerings and industry trends in smart metering, demand response, and renewable energy integration to position the platform as a market leader.
- • Present product progress, roadmaps, and business impact to executive leadership and investors on a monthly basis.
- • Champion user-centered design principles by partnering with UX researchers to validate assumptions through usability testing and customer interviews.
- • Manage product lifecycle from ideation through launch and post-launch optimization, including A/B testing, feature adoption metrics, and churn analysis.
- • Ensure seamless integration of third-party services such as smart meter APIs, payment gateways, and energy trading platforms into the core utility platform.
- • Document product specifications, user workflows, and technical dependencies with precision to enable scalable development and onboarding of new team members.
- • Advocate for customer needs internally, balancing business goals with user experience and regulatory obligations in every product decision.
- • Drive cross-functional initiatives to expand platform capabilities into new energy services, such as EV charging management, home energy storage, and carbon footprint tracking.
- • Maintain a deep understanding of the German energy market structure, including wholesale pricing, feed-in tariffs, and net metering policies.
- • Participate in industry events and customer workshops to gather feedback and build relationships with key utility stakeholders.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 5 years of product management experience in a B2B SaaS or utility technology environment
- • Proven track record of managing complex digital platforms with regulatory compliance requirements
- • Deep understanding of the German energy market and regulatory landscape (EEG, EnEV, BNetzA)
- • Experience working with smart metering, energy data APIs, or grid integration systems
- • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in using data to prioritize features and measure impact
- • Excellent communication skills and ability to align cross-functional teams across engineering, design, and operations
