With an unwavering commitment to culture, values, and ethics, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional client experiences and solving the most complex challenges to create a sustainable, connected, and enriched world for all. As the world evolves, Stanley strategically adapts, integrating cutting-edge technology, innovation, and resiliency practices into our operations. Our legacy spans over a century, serving critical sectors such as energy, federal government, transportation, and water, where we have consistently improved lives and shaped the essential infrastructure systems that connect us.
- • As an employee-owned organization with a deeply ingrained 'People First' philosophy, Stanley Consultants distinguishes itself from other engineering consulting and services firms. We foster an environment where every voice is heard, individual growth is prioritized, and collective success is celebrated. This unique culture, combined with our flexible work options, competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, strong sense of community, and opportunities for meaningful, long-term career development, makes Stanley Consultants an exceptional place to build your professional future.
- • In this pivotal role, the Senior Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for directing project teams in the meticulous execution of all project controls processes and systems. This will encompass managing either a single major project or a portfolio of smaller, yet equally important, projects. Operating under limited supervision, you will tackle the most intricate aspects of project control activities, ensuring that every facet of project administration, change management, project estimating, cost management, earned value management, and schedule management is performed with precision, efficiency, and in strict adherence to all company standards and contractual obligations.
- • Your responsibilities will extend to developing, implementing, and maintaining robust project control systems tailored to the specific needs of each project. This includes establishing baseline schedules and cost estimates, monitoring progress against these baselines, and forecasting future performance. You will be instrumental in identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies, particularly concerning schedule delays and cost overruns. Proactive communication and reporting will be key, providing stakeholders with clear, concise, and accurate updates on project status, performance metrics, and any deviations from the plan.
- • The Senior Project Controls Specialist will also play a crucial role in the change management process, evaluating the impact of proposed changes on project scope, schedule, and budget, and ensuring that all changes are properly documented, approved, and integrated into the project controls system. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of all project control reports, including progress reports, cost reports, variance analyses, and cash flow projections. Furthermore, you will ensure that all project documentation related to controls is maintained in an organized and accessible manner.
- • This position offers the opportunity to act as a lead on assigned projects, mentoring junior staff and fostering a culture of excellence in project controls. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment and achieve project objectives. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of project management principles and a proven track record of successfully applying project controls methodologies in complex engineering or construction environments. This role is critical to the successful delivery of our projects and contributes directly to Stanley Consultants' reputation for excellence and reliability.
- • Key responsibilities will include:
- • Developing and implementing comprehensive project control plans and procedures.
- • Establishing and maintaining project baselines for scope, schedule, and cost.
- • Monitoring project progress and performance against baselines.
- • Developing and analyzing project forecasts, including Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC).
- • Managing the change control process, assessing impacts, and ensuring proper documentation.
- • Preparing and distributing regular project control reports (progress, cost, variance, cash flow).
- • Performing earned value management (EVM) analysis and reporting.
- • Identifying and assessing project risks related to schedule and cost.
- • Collaborating with project teams to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- • Ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and company policies.
- • Maintaining project control documentation and databases.
- • Providing guidance and mentorship to project control staff as needed.
- • Facilitating communication and coordination among project stakeholders regarding control matters.
- • Utilizing project management and control software effectively.
- • Contributing to continuous improvement of project control processes and tools.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project controls, cost engineering, scheduling, or project management, with a significant portion focused on complex engineering or construction projects.
- • Proven experience in developing and implementing project control systems, including cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, earned value management, and change control.
- • Proficiency with project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
- • Experience in a lead role or mentoring junior project control staff is a plus.
- • Familiarity with various contract types and their implications on project controls.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and performance-based bonus opportunities.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- • Generous paid time off (PTO), including vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
- • 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match.
- • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), reflecting our employee-owned structure.
