📋 Description

• Own the end-to-end architecture of high-impact data products that turn raw information into revenue-generating insights for Fortune-500 and high-growth start-ups alike. You will design, build, and scale Python services that ingest, transform, and serve billions of events per month, directly influencing how our clients allocate multi-million-dollar marketing budgets.
• Lead technical discovery sessions with C-suite stakeholders, growth marketers, and data scientists to translate ambiguous business questions into crisp technical requirements. Your code will become the connective tissue between marketing experiments, attribution models, and executive dashboards, giving clients the confidence to double-down on winning strategies.
• Architect cloud-native ETL/ELT pipelines on AWS (Lambda, Glue, Kinesis, S3, Redshift, and SageMaker) that are resilient, cost-efficient, and horizontally scalable. You will make critical decisions on batch vs. stream processing, schema evolution, and data governance that ripple across the entire organization.
• Write production-grade Python (3.9+) using modern tooling—FastAPI for micro-services, Pydantic for validation, SQLAlchemy for ORM, and Poetry for dependency management. Expect to push code to production multiple times per day via fully automated CI/CD pipelines and to champion test-driven development with >90 % unit-test coverage.
• Mentor a distributed team of mid-level and junior engineers through pair programming, architectural reviews, and lightning talks. Your feedback will shape not just code quality but also engineering culture, ensuring that best practices in logging, monitoring, and alerting become second nature.
• Build and maintain real-time experimentation platforms that enable marketers to launch A/B and multivariate tests in minutes, not weeks. You will integrate with ad-network APIs (Google, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn) and stitch together disparate data sources to create a single source of truth for customer acquisition metrics.
• Design extensible data models that anticipate future business questions—think customer lifetime value cohorts, incrementality curves, and media-mix attribution. Your schemas will balance analytical flexibility with query performance, powering sub-second dashboards in Tableau, Looker, and Superset.
• Champion data quality and observability by implementing Great Expectations suites, anomaly detection jobs, and lineage graphs that surface issues before stakeholders notice them. You will define SLAs, SLOs, and error budgets that keep the entire platform running at 99.9 % uptime.
• Collaborate with our DevOps guild to containerize services with Docker, orchestrate them in Kubernetes (EKS), and automate infrastructure as code using Terraform. You will also evaluate emerging technologies—e.g., DuckDB, Snowflake Native Apps, or dbt Mesh—to keep the stack on the cutting edge.
• Contribute to open-source projects and internal libraries that the broader data community can leverage. Whether it’s a FastAPI middleware for request tracing or a Python package for Bayesian media-mix modeling, your work will extend beyond Nimble Gravity’s walls.
• Participate in quarterly “Gravity Games” hackathons where cross-functional teams prototype bold ideas—last year’s winner reduced client onboarding time from 4 weeks to 4 hours. You’ll have 48 hours and a blank AWS account to turn sparks into demos that often graduate into core product features.
• Embrace our remote-first culture by documenting decisions in Notion, recording Loom walkthroughs, and hosting virtual coffee chats. We value deep work and asynchronous communication, so you can climb a 14er in the morning and still ship code by sunset.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Python development with demonstrable experience in FastAPI or similar modern web frameworks
• Proven track record designing and operating large-scale data pipelines on AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, Redshift, or Athena)
• Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational and columnar databases; ability to optimize queries handling 100M+ rows
• Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals—unit/integration testing, CI/CD, containerization (Docker), and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
• Nice-to-have: production experience with dbt, Airflow, or Prefect; familiarity with statistical modeling or experimentation platforms; open-source contributions
