📋 Description

• Own the end-to-end quality strategy for Filevine’s award-winning legal-tech platform, ensuring every release delights thousands of attorneys, paralegals, and legal operations teams across the United States.
• Architect and execute advanced test plans that span complex multi-tenant SaaS workflows, court-filing integrations, AI-driven document automation, and SOC-2-grade security controls—delivering measurable reductions in escaped defects and customer-reported issues.
• Analyze test metrics, defect patterns, and production telemetry to surface actionable insights; present findings to Engineering, Product, and Customer Success leadership to drive data-backed decisions that continuously raise the quality bar.
• Partner shoulder-to-shoulder with developers during design reviews, sprint planning, and code reviews to bake testability into every feature from day one—advocating for contract tests, mocking strategies, and environment parity that cut regression times by 30% or more.
• Facilitate weekly defect triage and root-cause sessions, translating customer pain points into prioritized engineering tickets, and championing fixes that protect revenue and brand reputation.
• Expand automated regression coverage across web, API, and mobile layers; select and integrate best-of-breed tools (Cypress, Playwright, Postman/Newman, BrowserStack) into a unified CI/CD pipeline that runs thousands of tests in under 15 minutes.
• Mentor and upskill a distributed QA team of analysts and SDETs—setting clear OKRs, pairing on test design, and creating reusable libraries that accelerate onboarding and reduce duplicate effort.
• Codify and socialize QA best practices, from risk-based test design to shift-left performance testing, ensuring consistency across squads and raising the organization’s Testing Maturity Model level.
• Act as the go-to subject-matter expert for test methodologies, compliance requirements (HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA), and emerging trends such as contract testing and chaos engineering.
• Represent QA in quarterly roadmap planning, release governance, and customer advisory boards, translating regulatory and user-experience requirements into testable acceptance criteria.
• Champion a culture of quality across Filevine—hosting internal guilds, lunch-and-learns, and hack-days that inspire engineers, designers, and product managers to own quality together.
• Stay ahead of the curve by evaluating new frameworks, AI-augmented testing tools, and cloud-based test environments; run proof-of-concepts that future-proof our testing stack.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive experience in software quality assurance, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity within a SaaS or cloud-native environment.
• Demonstrated success designing and implementing comprehensive test strategies for complex, multi-service web applications and RESTful APIs.
• Expert-level proficiency with modern test automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, REST-assured) and CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (ISTQB Advanced, CSTE, CSQA) preferred.
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills—experience setting QA priorities, assigning tasks, and guiding team members in best practices across distributed or remote teams.
