📋 Description

• As a Senior QA Automation Engineer at Group 1001 Holdings LLC, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of Onyx, the company’s core annuity administrative platform, by designing and executing comprehensive automation testing strategies that directly impact product stability, customer experience, and operational excellence across multiple insurance subsidiaries.
• You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and product managers to embed quality into every stage of the software development lifecycle, driving continuous improvement in test coverage, release velocity, and defect prevention through innovative automation solutions.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing, documenting, and maintaining end-to-end automated test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines; collaborating with stakeholders to design test cases that ensure comprehensive functional and regression coverage; actively participating in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives to align testing efforts with delivery goals.
• You will determine appropriate testing types (functional, integration, API, regression, performance) based on risk and change impact; oversee test execution, monitor results, generate detailed reports, and provide actionable insights to improve software quality; mentor and train junior QA engineers on automation best practices, code reviews, and tool usage.
• You will lead the evolution of the automation strategy by proposing and implementing improvements to frameworks, tools, and processes; maintain and update regression test suites to reflect application changes; perform peer reviews on test code and design to uphold quality standards; and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic remote environment requiring strong multitasking and prioritization skills.

• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in modern test automation frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress), CI/CD integration, API testing, and database validation while gaining exposure to complex enterprise insurance systems; you will have the opportunity to influence quality culture, lead automation initiatives, and grow into a technical leader shaping the quality assurance practice across Group 1001’s digital platforms.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on test automation using JavaScript/TypeScript
• 3+ years of hands-on experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and writing scripts for data validation and setup
• Proven experience leading QA-focused projects, including providing effort estimates and coordinating cross-functional efforts
• Strong proficiency with test automation frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, and related technologies
• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Git
• Solid understanding of testing protocols and APIs (REST or GraphQL), including API testing experience
• Demonstrated ability to perform peer reviews on test code and design
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including active participation in sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to code and product quality
• High level of creativity and problem-solving ability to overcome complex testing challenges
