• • SEON is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior QA Manager to spearhead our Quality Assurance efforts across the entire product development lifecycle. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in defining and implementing our testing strategies, ensuring that SEON continues to deliver robust, reliable, and high-performing fraud prevention and AML compliance solutions to our global clientele. You will be the driving force behind maintaining and elevating our quality standards, embedding quality assurance into the very fabric of our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from inception to deployment.
• • Your primary responsibility will be to set the strategic direction for Quality Assurance, encompassing everything from release readiness and the establishment of stringent quality gates to defining clear and measurable delivery criteria. This involves a deep dive into our existing processes and a proactive approach to identifying areas for enhancement, ensuring that every software release meets SEON's exacting standards.
• • A significant aspect of this role involves leading and evolving our test automation strategy. You will be tasked with optimizing our test pyramid, ensuring comprehensive coverage across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing for both our frontend and backend components. This includes driving improvements in reliability, speed, and accuracy of automated tests, ultimately enhancing the overall quality and stability of our platform.
• • You will play a crucial role in advancing our Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. This means making our automated tests not just functional, but actionable, fast, and trustworthy, enabling seamless and confident continuous delivery. Leveraging the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be key to achieving these goals, allowing us to innovate and optimize our testing processes.
• • Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will work in close partnership with Engineering Managers and Product Management to gain a thorough understanding of business risks, strategically prioritize testing investments, and ensure that our quality objectives are tightly aligned with the product roadmap and delivery timelines. This cross-functional collaboration ensures that quality is a shared responsibility and a key enabler of business success.
• • You will guide development teams on best practices for testability and architecture-aware testing. This involves advising on the most effective testing techniques tailored to our system's design, ensuring that our architecture supports robust and efficient testing from the outset.
• • As a leader, you will also be involved in the technical aspects of QA, including reviewing and providing constructive feedback on pull requests. Your focus will be on the quality, maintainability, and risk mitigation inherent in the code and its associated tests.
• • Monitoring test results and identifying trends will be a continuous activity. You will lead the triage of test failures, investigate root causes, and drive the resolution of flaky tests and reliability issues to maintain a high level of test suite stability.
• • Mentoring and supporting both test engineers and software engineers is a core component of this position. You will help them enhance their automation skills, deepen their understanding of quality principles, and foster their professional growth within SEON.
• • Ensuring system-level quality requires a pragmatic approach, balancing automated testing with targeted manual test activities throughout the application lifecycle. You will oversee this balance to guarantee comprehensive quality assurance.
• • You will lead, coach, and develop the QA engineers within your team, providing regular feedback, personalized mentoring, and setting clear expectations to foster a high-performing and motivated team.
• • As SEON continues to grow, you will take ownership of hiring for QA roles when needed. This includes defining role requirements, conducting interviews, and ensuring a smooth and effective onboarding process for new team members.
• • You will be responsible for running performance and career development processes for your team, including setting individual and team goals, creating growth plans, and conducting performance reviews, ensuring that every team member has opportunities to develop and succeed.
• • Partnering with Engineering leadership on team structure, resource allocation, and capacity planning will be essential to ensure we have the right people and resources in place to meet our ambitious delivery goals.
• • Ultimately, you will be instrumental in building and nurturing a strong team culture that deeply values quality, fosters a sense of ownership, and promotes seamless collaboration across all functions within SEON.
• • This role is based in our Budapest office and operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring approximately three days per week in the office, fostering a blend of focused work and collaborative interaction.
