Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior QA & User Acceptance Testing Specialist at Wrapbook, you will be instrumental in elevating the quality and reliability of our innovative production payroll platform. Embedded directly within the Product & Engineering teams, your primary mission will be to ensure that every new feature and workflow meets a high standard of accuracy, usability, and operational readiness before it reaches our clients and their diverse user base. This role is pivotal in supporting Wrapbook's expansion into more complex payroll scenarios, including scripted, unionized, and non-union FTV productions, demanding a rigorous quality assurance approach.
- • You will take ownership of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and comprehensive manual Quality Assurance (QA) for intricate, real-world payroll workflows. This involves a deep partnership with Product Managers, the Client Operations Lead, Designers, and Engineers. Your proactive involvement throughout the development lifecycle will be crucial for identifying potential gaps, uncovering edge cases, and highlighting usability issues early on, thereby enabling timely course corrections and minimizing costly rework.
- • A key aspect of your role will be to define and execute detailed test scenarios, comprehensive test cases, and specific test data requirements. This will extend to complex payroll workflows, meticulously considering nuanced edge cases and multi-step operational flows that mirror the complexities of the entertainment industry.
- • You will perform hands-on manual UAT across a variety of workflows, validating not only the 'happy path' but also the critical edge cases and operational readiness. This includes executing end-to-end testing, managing feature flag sequencing, configuring test environments, and setting up multi-entity test configurations involving companies, projects, and individual workers.
- • Your expertise will be vital in identifying and validating high-risk use cases, such as complex payroll calculations, Health & Travel Group (HTG) scenarios, and union-specific logic. This validation will extend to up- and down-stream platform impacts, ensuring thorough regression testing and the early identification of issues before they progress to formal UAT stages.
- • You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams from the inception of features, not just at the final testing phase. This early engagement allows you to influence design and development decisions with a quality-first perspective, surfacing defects, edge cases, and workflow gaps proactively.
- • A significant part of your contribution will involve partnering with Engineering and third-party teams to strategically determine the optimal balance between manual testing and automation, considering factors like speed, risk mitigation, and overall test coverage.
- • You will work hand-in-hand with Client Operations subject matter experts to translate intricate, real-world payroll workflows into structured, actionable test scenarios, ensuring that our testing accurately reflects the operational realities our clients face.
- • By centralizing validation within the Product team, you will reduce the reliance on Client Operations for initial, early-stage testing, thereby streamlining processes and freeing up valuable operational resources.
- • You will establish and maintain structured feedback loops between Client Operations and the Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) teams, fostering continuous improvement in release readiness and product quality.
- • Your ability to provide clear, concise, and actionable feedback will empower teams to make informed decisions and manage trade-offs effectively while upholding Wrapbook's commitment to a high-quality standard.
- • You will ensure that all testing accurately reflects the complex operational realities of FTV productions, applying your industry knowledge to pressure-test assumptions related to HTG, union rules, FTV vs. commercial production nuances, and cross-persona workflows.
- • Your role will be critical in contributing to Go/No-Go readiness assessments by providing a clear, data-driven quality evaluation of release candidates. You will highlight areas of significant risk and any unresolved defects, offering well-reasoned quality sign-off recommendations for high-risk releases.
- • You will evaluate release risk by considering workflows, identified edge cases, and potential downstream impacts on the platform and client operations.
- • Prior to production deployment, you will validate the sequencing of launch rollouts, including feature flag management, phased releases, and environment configurations.
- • You will confirm operational readiness, ensuring adequate regression coverage and a thorough understanding of downstream implications.
- • You will assist in documenting quality trends and release patterns, contributing to ongoing efforts to improve predictability, confidence, and the overall quality bar across the organization.
- • By preparing UAT environments and test data, you will enable Product Managers and Engineering Managers to review features efficiently, acting as a force multiplier and reducing the number of individuals required for early-stage testing.
- • You will document recurring issues, identify patterns, and capture learnings to continuously enhance testing coverage and elevate the quality standards at Wrapbook.
- • Ultimately, success in this role will be measured by improved time-to-market through streamlined UAT cycles, a reduction in regression bugs found in production, decreased rework for Engineering teams, high-confidence Go/No-Go decisions supported by clear quality signals, enhanced release predictability, and reduced last-minute launch blockers, all while providing clear visibility into release risk before production deployment.
