Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end quality engineering function for Core Engineering at Noda AI, building test automation infrastructure from scratch rather than inheriting existing systems.
- • Design and implement a comprehensive test automation framework in Rust and Python covering unit, integration, regression, and scenario-level testing for distributed, concurrent systems.
- • Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines with enforced security and compliance gates at every stage, including SAST, dependency scanning, and vulnerability validation.
- • Ensure CUI and export-controlled data never enter clean-zone or vendor-accessible test environments by designing and enforcing strict security boundaries in test infrastructure.
- • Define and track key quality metrics including test coverage, flake rate, false positive rate, and mean time to detect and triage failures, using these to drive release decisions.
- • Maintain and evolve a component-level quality dashboard that feeds into program-level go/no-go decision-making for engineering and executive leadership.
- • Issue definitive go/no-go release recommendations backed by verifiable functional, security, and compliance evidence, using standardized checklists and clear criteria.
- • Triage test failures with diagnostic precision, providing engineers with root cause analysis rather than mere error symptoms to accelerate resolution.
- • Ensure test suite health through regular review cycles, deprecation of stale or redundant tests, and continuous identification of coverage gaps.
- • Translate technical quality state into actionable, leadership-ready language that informs program-level release strategies and risk assessments.
- • Scale the quality engineering function as Core Engineering grows, establishing processes and standards that support future teams and increasing system complexity.
- • Embed security and compliance validation as first-class citizens within the quality function, aligning with NODA’s five-phase Security & Compliance Maturity Roadmap and NIST 800-171 standards.
- • Collaborate across engineering sub-teams and engage directly with program and mission stakeholders to align quality outcomes with operational and contractual objectives.
- • Build test infrastructure with production-grade rigor, treating test code and harnesses as mission-critical products requiring design, maintenance, and evolution.
- • Maintain a zero-tolerance approach to flaky or unreliable tests, ensuring only stable, authoritative test results influence release decisions.
- • Work on-site in Austin, TX with less than 10% travel required for mission-critical engagements or stakeholder alignment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years in software quality engineering with proven experience building test infrastructure from scratch
- • Engineering fundamentals: test code must be production-quality, with test harnesses maintained as first-class products
- • Proficient in Python; Rust proficiency or a concrete plan to achieve it within a short timeframe
- • Hands-on experience building and enforcing CI/CD gates with integrated security testing (SAST, dependency scanning, compliance validation)
- • Proven track record of owning and delivering quality dashboards and metrics that directly drive go/no-go release decisions
- • Deep understanding of distributed and concurrent systems and their failure modes
- • Background in defense, robotics, aerospace, or autonomous systems
- • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and equity
- • Health, dental, and vision insurance
- • Free OneMedical membership
- • 401(k)
- • Flexible time off
- • Federal holidays
