You will be responsible for strengthening platform confidence and ensuring that Arbor's suite of tools consistently meets high standards of performance and user satisfaction. • • A key responsibility will be to build and scale mobile automation for Arbor's two React Native applications. This involves creating a maintainable and efficient automation suite from the ground up, ensuring comprehensive test coverage for critical user journeys on both iOS and Android platforms. You will define mobile quality signals and coverage metrics, prioritizing high-risk areas to keep regression testing lean, valuable, and effective.
• • You will lead system-level risk thinking, developing lean test strategies that effectively identify and mitigate potential issues. This includes ensuring that identified risks are owned and addressed by the relevant engineering teams. Furthermore, you will establish clear quality standards and scalable validation patterns that can be readily adopted by all teams, fostering greater consistency and reducing testing gaps across the organization.
• • A significant aspect of the role involves scaling 'shift-left' practices. This means influencing the discovery and design phases of product development to ensure testability from the outset and improving the quality of early-stage checks. By integrating quality considerations earlier in the development lifecycle, you will help prevent defects and reduce the cost of remediation.
• • You will take ownership of automation health for critical user journeys across various teams. This includes enhancing the reliability of automated tests, minimizing test flakiness, and ensuring the long-term maintainability of the automation framework. Your efforts will directly contribute to a more stable and predictable release process.
• • Curating and evolving cross-team regression coverage is another vital function. This involves ensuring that regression tests are risk-based, efficient, and aligned with the overall platform priorities. You will continuously assess and refine the regression suite to maximize its effectiveness and minimize redundant testing.
• • In the event of critical quality risks or incidents, you will lead the response efforts. This includes driving containment strategies, facilitating shared learning across teams, and implementing measures to prevent recurrence. Your ability to manage and resolve high-priority quality issues will be crucial.
• • As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will act as a multiplier for the Quality Engineering capability within Arbor. This involves coaching and mentoring other QEs, enhancing their technical judgment, and driving sustainable improvements in quality practices across the board. Your leadership will foster a culture of quality excellence throughout the engineering department.
