- • Lead the development and scaling of mobile applications using React Native for a portfolio of consumer-facing products in health, education, and entertainment.
- • Own the end-to-end delivery of new mobile features, from architecture design through deployment to App Store and Google Play.
- • Maintain, optimize, and refactor the existing React Native codebase to improve performance, stability, and maintainability.
- • Define and evolve mobile architecture, including component structure, state management, navigation patterns, and cross-platform abstraction layers.
- • Collaborate closely with backend, product, and design teams to align technical implementation with user experience and business goals.
- • Drive reliability and observability standards by implementing monitoring tools such as Sentry, OpenTelemetry, crash reporting, and performance tracing.
- • Own production debugging, incident investigation, and root cause analysis for critical mobile issues including offline sync, degraded API behavior, and distributed failures.
- • Improve build systems, CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and over-the-air (OTA) update workflows using EAS, CodePush, or similar tools.
- • Optimize UI performance metrics including rendering speed, memory usage, startup time, navigation latency, and offline behavior.
- • Champion clean code practices, SOLID principles, comprehensive documentation, and maintainable architecture across the mobile engineering team.
- • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, architectural guidance, and incident response protocols.
- • Support hiring efforts to build and grow a world-class mobile engineering team.
- • Ensure seamless app store compliance and deployment processes across both iOS and Android platforms.
- • Deeply understand React internals including hooks, reconciliation, render cost, and lifecycle behavior to make informed performance decisions.
- • Work with native modules and bridge components between React Native and platform-specific iOS/Android code.
- • Design and implement edge case handling for unreliable networks, partial data sync, and recovery UX patterns.
- • Contribute to the development of shared component libraries, design systems, or mobile platform foundations to improve team velocity.
- • Maintain high standards for testing, release quality, and performance profiling across all mobile releases.
- • Operate within Central European Time (CET) zone with collaboration expected within ±4 hours of CET to ensure effective real-time teamwork.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience building mobile applications with significant React Native experience
- • Shipped and maintained apps on both the App Store and Google Play
- • Deep knowledge of React internals (hooks, reconciliation, render cost) and mobile system design principles
- • Experience with native module bridging, iOS/Android integration, and performance optimization (memory, rendering, startup time)
- • Proven track record of leading mobile architecture or technical strategy for a production app or major feature
- • Experience implementing CI/CD, release automation, OTA updates, and mobile observability tools (Sentry, OpenTelemetry, etc.)
