- • As a Senior Regulatory Counsel for the Americas at Airwallex, you will play a critical role in enabling the company’s global expansion by ensuring compliance with complex financial services regulations across North and South America, directly supporting the mission to build the future of global payments infrastructure.
- • You will provide strategic legal guidance on licensing, money transmission, stored value, FX, remittance, and card issuing regulations, helping Airwallex navigate evolving regulatory landscapes while scaling innovative financial products in key markets.
- • Day to day, you will monitor and analyze regulatory developments across the Americas, advise cross-functional teams on compliance implications, and lead engagements with federal, state, and provincial regulators to shape proactive regulatory strategy.
- • You will partner closely with Product Legal, Regulatory Compliance, Risk, and Financial Crime teams to embed regulatory requirements into product design and go-to-market plans, ensuring seamless alignment between innovation and compliance.
- • You will manage external legal counsel and consultants, oversee regulatory filings and reporting obligations, and support government relations efforts to influence policy outcomes in priority jurisdictions.
- • You will leverage AI and legal technology tools to enhance the efficiency and scalability of regulatory workflows, driving modernization within the Legal, Risk & Compliance function.
- • You will mentor and collaborate with global legal teammates, contributing to a culture of intellectual rigor, ownership, and founder-like energy while tackling high-visibility, ambiguous challenges in a fast-paced fintech environment.

🎯 Requirements
- • Qualified lawyer with 10+ years of relevant post-qualification experience
- • Strong regulatory experience in fintech, law firms, or financial institutions with exposure to payments, e-money, FX, remittances, or card issuing in the Americas
- • Deep experience advising on regulatory matters, handling submissions and filings, and engaging directly with federal and state/provincial regulators in key Americas markets
