Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the month-end close for revenue, accounts receivable, and cost of revenue. You will prepare and post complex journal entries, reconcile high-volume accounts, and ensure every dollar is properly recorded under ASC 606. Your work will directly feed Clipboard’s consolidated financial statements that leadership, investors, and auditors rely on.
- • Lead ASC 606 technical analyses for brand-new revenue streams as we expand from Long-Term Care into Dental Offices, Schools, and beyond. You will draft technical memos, build amortization schedules, and partner with Product & Legal to structure contracts that maximize revenue while staying compliant.
- • Drive continuous process improvement. Whether it’s automating a NetSuite saved search, redesigning our revenue cut-off procedures, or eliminating a manual reconciliation, you will spot bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions that shave days off our close calendar.
- • Become the go-to subject-matter expert for revenue and AR. You will field questions from FP&A, Sales Ops, and Customer Success, translating GAAP jargon into plain English so non-accountants can make informed decisions.
- • Partner with external auditors during quarterly reviews and the annual audit. You will prepare PBCs, walk auditors through technical memos, and turn any findings into action plans that strengthen our control environment.
- • Build and maintain internal controls in a SOX-compliant, high-growth tech environment. You will document narratives, flowcharts, and control matrices—and then test them to ensure every control is operating effectively.
- • Analyze monthly fluctuations and craft insightful commentary for management reporting packages. Your variance analyses will spotlight emerging trends and help executives decide where to double-down or course-correct.
- • Operate with minimal supervision in a fully remote, global team. You will manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and still deliver work that is accurate, well-documented, and audit-ready.
- • Contribute to special projects on demand—whether it’s a new ERP module, an M&A integration, or a new pricing model. Your first-principles mindset and extreme curiosity will turn ambiguous requests into clear, executable plans.
- • Align with PST/PDT hours during critical windows like month-end close to ensure seamless hand-offs with teammates across time zones.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including heavy exposure to revenue recognition under ASC 606
- • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, Power Query, complex formulas) and proven ability to manipulate large data sets
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to distill complex accounting topics into concise, business-friendly language
- • CPA license (or actively pursuing) and prior Big Four experience strongly preferred
- • NetSuite or comparable ERP experience in a SOX-controlled, high-growth technology environment
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree a plus
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary plus equity in a profitable, Series C marketplace that has been cash-flow positive since 2022
- • Fully remote culture with flexible hours—work from anywhere while collaborating with a global team of 700+ mission-driven colleagues
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage for you and eligible dependents
- • Annual learning stipend to pursue CPA CPE, technical courses, or professional development of your choice
