• • In this Senior Revenue Accountant role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, specifically focusing on revenue recognition. You will be instrumental in managing and refining our revenue processes, contributing directly to the financial health and scalability of dbt Labs as we continue our rapid expansion.
• • Your primary responsibility will involve the meticulous review and management of the revenue recording process for self-service transactions. This includes performing detailed reconciliations of self-service revenue during the month-end close process, ensuring all transactions are accurately captured and accounted for. You will also be the point of contact for monitoring and responding to customer inquiries related to revenue, providing timely and accurate support.
• • A key aspect of this role is the in-depth review of non-standard revenue contracts. You will be tasked with assessing the revenue accounting implications of these complex agreements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This requires a strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and the ability to apply them to diverse contractual scenarios.
• • You will be actively involved in implementing and enhancing revenue recognition processes, leveraging data build tools to streamline operations. Collaboration will be essential as you work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering, to identify opportunities for process improvements and drive efficiency in our revenue operations.
• • Maintaining the integrity of our financial systems is crucial. You will be responsible for overseeing key system integrations, including those between Stripe, NetSuite, Salesforce, Avalara, and Hex. This involves validating that integrated data is complete, accurate, and reconciled before the commencement of the month-end close, preventing downstream issues.
• • Performing comprehensive reconciliations of revenue accounts during the month-end close is a core duty. This ensures that all revenue-related accounts are balanced and accurately reflect the company's financial position.
• • Furthermore, you will own critical activities related to sales tax. This includes the reconciliation of sales tax payments, the accurate accrual of sales tax liabilities through journal entry postings, and the review of sales tax returns as part of the month-end close process. This responsibility requires a solid understanding of sales tax regulations and compliance.
