📋 Description

• • Architect and deliver scalable Salesforce solutions that power Gusto’s Revenue Business Systems, directly enabling our Sales, Service, and Marketing teams to help 400,000+ small businesses thrive. You will own the full development lifecycle—from white-boarding data models to writing Lightning Web Components, Apex triggers, and Flow automations—while ensuring every line of code meets our high bar for security, performance, and maintainability.
• • Design and implement complex integrations between Salesforce and Gusto’s micro-service ecosystem (Node, Ruby, Kotlin) using REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and MuleSoft. You will map cross-system data flows, implement idempotent retry logic, and build real-time dashboards that surface actionable insights to revenue leaders within minutes, not hours.
• • Partner with Product Managers, Revenue Operations, and UX Researchers to translate ambiguous business problems into crisp technical requirements. You will run weekly “demo-or-die” sessions, rapidly prototype in scratch orgs, and A/B test features with actual customer-facing reps before global roll-out.
• • Establish and evangelize development best-practices: CI/CD with SFDX & GitHub Actions, static code analysis via PMD & CodeScan, 90%+ unit-test coverage, and org-shape automation that lets any engineer spin up a fully-loaded dev environment in under 10 minutes. You will mentor junior developers through pair-programming and lead quarterly “Clean-Code” guild workshops.
• • Optimize org performance by profiling SOQL/DML hotspots, archiving stale data with Big Objects, and implementing selective, index-aware queries that cut dashboard load times by 50%. You will monitor limits via Event Monitoring logs and proactively refactor before governors become blockers.
• • Own release governance across four Salesforce clouds (Sales, Service, Experience, Revenue). You will coordinate sandbox refreshes, package version control, and phased production deployments that maintain 99.9% uptime during business hours for a 1,000+ seat org.
• • Build self-service analytics layers: deploy Einstein Analytics datasets, row-level security predicates, and Tableau CRM dashboards that allow reps to slice pipeline by segment, product, and customer health score without filing a single ticket.
• • Champion security & compliance—enforce Field-Level Encryption for PII, implement Transaction Security policies to block suspicious exports, and maintain a real-time audit trail for SOX, HIPAA, and GDPR regulators. You will partner with Legal to automate Right-to-Be-Forgotten workflows across Salesforce and downstream data lakes.
• • Continuously refactor legacy Process Builders and Workflow Rules into scalable Flows and Apex, reducing technical debt by 30% year-over-year while documenting every decision in our internal “Revenue Systems Runbook” for transparency.
• • Influence the roadmap: synthesize field feedback, emerging Salesforce roadmap (GenAI, Data Cloud), and Gusto’s product vision into a 12-quarter technical backlog that balances quick wins with strategic bets. You will present quarterly to the CTO and CRO, securing budget for sandbox expansion and additional headcount.
