- • Senior Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engineer role at Future plc, a global multi-platform media company, where you will drive the technical re-engineering of Salesforce Marketing Cloud to support an API-first, cloud-based serverless architecture following the GoCompare acquisition, ensuring scalable, tested, and best-practice-aligned solutions that enhance customer interactions and business growth.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include defining technical specifications for new features and services, maintaining and improving the existing codebase, ensuring changes are scalable and tested, mentoring junior and graduate engineers, reviewing code, and collaborating closely with Engineering, Product, and CRM teams to ensure reliable integration of campaigns, channels, and products across Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and external systems via API and SFTP.
- • You will be expected to make key technical decisions aligned with the replatforming roadmap, clearly communicate them to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and act as a trusted advisor within the team, leveraging your expertise in SFMC data architecture, contact mappings, AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, data modeling, and HTML/CSS/JavaScript for personalized email templates and cloud pages.
- • The role sits within Future’s Technology department, which has been instrumental in the company’s growth and disruption of digital publishing, and you will contribute to a mission-driven culture focused on innovation, inclusion, and diversity, working alongside over 3,000 employees across 200+ media brands to deliver trusted, expert content that educates and inspires action.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in enterprise-scale Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementations, gain leadership experience through mentoring and code reviews, shape the technical direction of a major replatforming initiative, and develop influence as a decision-maker in a high-impact, remote-based UK role with significant autonomy and visibility across technical and business teams.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of hands-on experience in an implementation-facing environment delivering enterprise-level Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions
- • Deep understanding of SFMC’s data architecture and contact mappings, with advanced SQL and data modeling skills for complex queries and sophisticated audience creation
- • Proficiency in AMPscript and SSJS for dynamic data handling and user experience customization, plus experience integrating SFMC with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and external systems via API and SFTP
- • Experience with HTML/CSS and JavaScript for creating personalized, responsive email templates and cloud pages, along with familiarity with CRM, web-based channels, GDPR, PII handling, and data views
