📋 Description

• Participate in team exercises to identify potential security risks through threat modeling and tabletop scenarios.
• Contribute to complex prioritization discussions to determine which security risks require immediate attention.
• Plan and execute cross-functional projects to address prioritized security risks, coordinating with stakeholders across engineering, product, sales, marketing, and support.
• Build and maintain scalable programs to achieve operational excellence in areas such as vulnerability management.
• Partner with engineering teams to architect secure software, address security concerns during development, and foster a strong security culture.
• Build, customize, and operate tools that enhance the maturity of Vanta’s security program without introducing operational friction.
• Support ongoing bug bounty and penetration testing programs to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Establish and maintain a network of security champions across the organization to extend security awareness and ownership.
• Identify knowledge gaps in the development organization and deliver targeted training to improve security competency.
• Provide input into architectural discussions to enable secure, repeatable, and scalable innovation across engineering teams.
• Demonstrate independent ownership of assigned security initiatives with measurable impact on company-wide risk posture.
• Apply threat modeling, red teaming, penetration testing, or similar techniques to proactively uncover security issues.
• Read and analyze code to identify security vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
• Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams, demonstrating deep empathy for developers’ workflows and constraints.
• Manage projects with high organization and precision, ensuring timely delivery of security initiatives.
• Embrace AI tools to amplify security workflows, applying curiosity, responsible judgment, and a willingness to learn to improve efficiency and impact.

🎯 Requirements

• A track record of independent ownership of areas of responsibility
• Experience with threat modeling, red teaming, penetration testing, or other means of identifying security issues
• Experience with software development and the ability to read code to identify security issues
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with deep developer empathy
• Highly organized project management skills
• Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work, demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly
