• • Senior Security Engineer - Detect & Response role focused on leading incident response, threat hunting, and security monitoring for a fintech company operating in the UK and EU.
• • Day-to-day responsibilities include proactively monitoring for cyber threats, serving as incident commander during security events, executing response actions per NIST framework, maintaining incident response plans, participating in 24/7 on-call rotations, developing detection logic via detections-as-code, and coordinating with cross-functional teams including HR, law enforcement, and fraud/compliance units.
• • The role is part of the Security Operations and Response Team, reporting to the Manager of Security Operations and Response, with a focus on protecting Marqeta’s environment through technical leadership, mentorship, and continuous improvement of security operations.
• • The position offers opportunities to deepen expertise in threat hunting, digital forensics, cloud security (AWS), detection engineering, and regulatory compliance (PCI DSS), while mentoring junior staff and influencing organization-wide security posture through strategic initiatives and process refinement.
