Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • As a Senior Security Engineer at Hopper Inc., you will own the tooling, automation, and processes that keep applications secure across their entire lifecycle, making security invisible to developers and unavoidable by default.
- • Your day-to-day will involve owning and evolving the vulnerability management program with a focus on application security, building and maintaining security tooling integrated into CI/CD pipelines, using AI extensively to write code and automate analyses, assessing telemetry, influencing secure development practices through tooling, investigating security findings, and adapting quickly to shifting priorities in an agile environment.
- • You will join a small, high-impact Security team at Hopper, a proven startup with large ambitions that is transforming into a global travel fintech provider and commerce platform, powering travel experiences for hundreds of millions of users through its app and B2B division HTS.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in application security and cloud infrastructure, master AI-augmented engineering practices, shape security culture by building secure defaults, and have significant influence over how security is embedded into developer workflows at scale.
🎯 Requirements
- • At least 5 years experience in software and/or platform engineering with ability to design, build, and maintain production-quality tools
- • Deep experience in application security and vulnerability management including CVEs, dependency risks, container security, and SDLC integration
- • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally GCP/GKE or equivalent
- • Demonstrated habit of using AI tools (coding assistants, LLMs) as a core part of building and analysis
- • Bias toward automation — instinct to write tools for repetitive tasks rather than create runbooks
- • Comfort with ambiguity and ownership — ability to make independent judgment calls on priority, approach, and scope
- • Experience influencing engineering culture around security by making secure practices the easy path
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate security posture to customers
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and pre-IPO equity packages
- • Unlimited PTO
- • Carrot Cash travel stipend
- • Access to co-working space on demand via FlexDesk and work-from-home stipend
- • Very generous parental leave (above industry standards)
- • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage
- • Access to disability & life insurance, HRA, DCA/FSA, and 401k plan
- • Entrepreneurial culture with open communication and small, dynamic teams enabling massive impact
