  • • Design and develop observability solutions for cloud-based systems including metrics, logs, traces, and synthetic monitoring to ensure system reliability and performance at scale.
  • • Implement technical solutions in Agile iterations covering design, development, testing, deployment, and release with emphasis on scalability, reliability, and security.
  • • Develop and enhance integrations with Dynatrace and Catchpoint, including configuring dashboards, alerting rules, and monitoring setups for production systems.
  • • Build and maintain OpenTelemetry instrumentation and telemetry pipelines to ensure consistent and standardized observability across microservices and distributed systems.
  • • Provision and manage observability infrastructure using infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or similar platforms.
  • • Develop, debug, and automate tests for backend services and platform components to ensure robustness and maintainability.
  • • Monitor and support large-scale production systems, participating in on-call rotations for incident response, performance analysis, and root cause debugging.
  • • Collaborate with software engineers, SREs, and platform teams to improve system visibility, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the evolution of engineering best practices, documentation, and team standards.
  • • Communicate technical progress, system status, and architectural decisions clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • • Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor and Claude to automate workflows, improve coding productivity, and streamline development and operational tasks.
  • • Work within AWS and Kubernetes-based environments to deploy, manage, and optimize observability components in cloud-native architectures.
  • • Optimize telemetry pipelines for cost efficiency while maintaining high-fidelity monitoring and alerting capabilities.
  • • Apply system design principles to build resilient, scalable observability platforms that serve engineering teams across Autodesk.
  • • Contribute to the continuous improvement of developer platforms by integrating observability into CI/CD pipelines and internal tooling.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • • 5+ years of experience in software engineering building cloud-native applications or platforms
  • • Strong programming skills in Java, Go, or Python
  • • Experience building and supporting distributed systems and microservices
  • • Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Dynatrace, Catchpoint, or similar
  • • Experience with OpenTelemetry or distributed tracing concepts
