- • Senior Software Developer- Python role at Interactive Brokers LLC, contributing to the Financial Crimes Surveillance team that develops systems to detect and prevent fraud, market manipulation, and money laundering across a global platform processing over 1 billion order events and 6+ million trades daily.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and optimizing transaction surveillance and data pipeline processes, owning mission-critical datasets, building developer tooling, ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance, collaborating with quantitative engineers and compliance stakeholders, and driving innovation in data storage, retrieval, and workflow automation.
- • The team consists of software engineers, data engineers, compliance specialists, and data scientists working on mission-critical infrastructure that protects the integrity of the financial system, operating in a hybrid model (3 days in office, 2 days remote) from Greenwich, CT.
- • In this role, you will achieve technical leadership by architecting scalable systems, gain deep expertise in financial surveillance and large-scale data engineering, and directly impact regulatory compliance and financial security for 4.5+ million client accounts across 200+ countries.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in Python, C++ or Java
- • 3+ years of professional experience in Python as a primary language (non-scripting)
- • Extensive experience in Polars, Pandas or NumPy
- • Thorough understanding of databases and SQL
- • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, or a related area
