📋 Description

• • Own the reliability, observability, and performance of a cloud-native platform that now serves thousands of financial advisors and processes millions of dollars in investment proposals every month—your code will directly influence how Canadians build and protect their wealth.
• • Architect and harden the next generation of CapIntel’s infrastructure on AWS (EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudFront) while keeping latency under 200 ms for end-users and ensuring 99.9 % uptime during market-open hours.
• • Lead incident response from detection to post-mortem: you’ll be the calm voice in the war-room, driving root-cause analysis, writing blameless retros, and turning every outage into an automated safeguard that prevents recurrence.
• • Instrument everything—Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry, and custom SLIs/SLOs—so that anomalies surface before clients notice, and so that product teams can ship with confidence multiple times per day.
• • Build self-service tooling that shrinks the time it takes for any developer to spin up an environment, run load tests, or roll back a bad release from 30 minutes to 3 clicks.
• • Partner tightly with Security & Compliance to embed SOC-2 controls, encrypt PII at rest and in transit, and maintain audit trails that satisfy both regulators and Fortune-500 enterprise clients.
• • Champion a culture of reliability across the org: run internal tech talks, mentor mid-level engineers on chaos-engineering practices, and write decision records that turn tribal knowledge into living documentation.
• • Optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Argo CD) to cut build times by 40 %, enable blue-green and canary deployments, and give teams the safety net they need to experiment without fear.
• • Model cost consciousness—right-size clusters, leverage spot instances, and negotiate Reserved Instance savings—while still hitting aggressive growth targets and zero customer-facing regressions.
• • Contribute to the product roadmap by translating reliability metrics into user stories: e.g., turning “p99 latency” into “advisor can generate a client-ready proposal in under 5 seconds even during RRSP season.”
• • Stay curious about emerging FinTech regulations (CIRO, GDPR, SEC) and proactively propose architectural changes that keep us two steps ahead of compliance deadlines.
• • Work fully remote across North American time zones, with quarterly in-person summits in Toronto where you’ll whiteboard the next big reliability leap alongside founders, designers, and customer-success leads.
