- • Serve as a key member of the scrum team, participating in all sprint activities to ensure quality is embedded from design through deployment and production support.
- • Contribute to building an engineering culture that prioritizes quality across all software feature development teams company-wide.
- • Develop and execute strategies to continuously increase test coverage while reducing test execution time.
- • Design, implement, and execute functional, integration, end-to-end, security, and performance tests—both manual and automated.
- • Make frequent contributions to the test automation harness integrated into the continuous integration pipeline.
- • Build tools and frameworks to support automated testing of Kong’s products across frontend and backend systems.
- • Interact with stakeholders, team members, and internal users to align on timelines, technical challenges, and quality goals.
- • Apply expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript to develop and maintain test automation solutions.
- • Define test strategies, plan test cycles, design test cases, execute tests, and report on quality metrics.
- • Leverage understanding of web application architecture to identify potential vulnerabilities and failure points.
- • Utilize automated testing tools and strategies to validate API interactions including RESTful and gRPC endpoints.
- • Apply knowledge of Docker to containerize and manage test environments.
- • Implement and maintain Continuous Integration/Delivery workflows using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- • Demonstrate understanding of LLM and Generative AI concepts and their typical use cases in product testing.
- • Contribute to the design and evolution of a test framework from the ground up, with recent experience in a startup environment.
- • Measure and validate quality for high-availability SaaS and Enterprise-scale offerings.
- • Collaborate across teams to ensure testing practices align with product goals and operational requirements.
- • Maintain awareness of emerging testing technologies and adapt testing approaches to evolving product architectures.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience and good knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript
- • Functional testing experience, including defining test strategy, test planning, test case design, execution, and reporting
- • Expertise with automated testing tools and strategies
- • Understanding of web application structure and potential "soft spots"
- • Understand the concepts of LLM and Generative AI and typical use cases
- • Recent exposure to a startup environment building and contributing to a test framework, including automation, from the ground up
