📋 Description

• Senior Software Engineer 1 (L4) at Stepful Inc. is a pivotal role focused on building and scaling technology that expands access to healthcare careers through innovative, AI-supported education platforms.
• Day to day, the engineer will develop and iterate on a world-class Learning Management System, design career services tools powered by generative AI, build internal workforce platforms for instructors and coaches, manage scalable content pipelines, and ensure reliable data infrastructure for cross-functional teams.
• Stepful is a mission-driven EdTech startup backed by Y Combinator and recent $31.5M Series B funding, named #1 U.S. EdTech company by TIME in 2025, partnering with major healthcare employers to train and place graduates in high-demand roles.
• In this role, the engineer will gain ownership over full-stack development, deepen expertise in React/TypeScript and backend technologies (Python, Node.js, Ruby on Rails), apply generative AI in education and career services, and grow as a builder in a fast-paced, values-driven environment focused on impact and learning.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience with ownership of the full development lifecycle
• Proficiency in React and TypeScript on the frontend
• Familiarity with at least one backend language: Python, Node.js, or Ruby on Rails
• Experience in a direct-to-consumer startup, preferably in EdTech or healthcare (bonus)
• Ability to solve complex problems with cutting-edge technology and a willingness to learn continuously
• Comfort working in early-stage, ambiguous environments and building new systems from scratch
