- • Design, build, and maintain backend services using Go or other strongly typed languages to power Pave Bank’s core banking operations.
- • Develop scalable, event-driven distributed systems that handle critical financial workflows and transactions.
- • Collaborate directly with Product, Compliance, Treasury, and Operations teams to define requirements and deliver high-quality, compliant solutions.
- • Write detailed design documents for new features and system improvements, ensuring alignment with architectural goals and regulatory needs.
- • Review pull requests and provide constructive technical feedback to peers to uphold code quality and engineering standards.
- • Implement end-to-end features from initial architecture design through coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- • Ensure code quality through clean, maintainable, well-documented code and comprehensive automated test coverage.
- • Contribute to the evolution of engineering best practices, tooling, and system reliability initiatives across the organization.
- • Mentor junior engineers by providing guidance on architecture, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
- • Work in a fast-paced startup environment where ambiguity is common, requiring rapid learning and adaptive problem-solving.
- • Build programmable financial infrastructure that bridges traditional banking and digital assets, shaping the future of business banking.
- • Engage with stakeholders across technical and non-technical domains to translate business needs into robust, scalable software solutions.
- • Prioritize system reliability, scalability, and maintainability in all aspects of development and deployment.
- • Participate in shaping the engineering culture at an early-stage fintech backed by top global investors and led by founders of Monzo and BigPay.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- • Strong proficiency in Go, or proven exceptional ability in another strongly typed language.
- • Solid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- • Experience in a Tier 1 tech company (e.g., Stripe, Grab, Google, Deliveroo, Monzo, Shopee, Bytedance) or significant open-source contributions.
- • Hands-on experience with Temporal, GCP, or Encore.dev is a plus.
- • Collaborative, empathetic, and able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
