- • As a Senior Software Engineer on WEX Inc.'s Benefits Technology team, you will play a critical role in simplifying the business of running a business by designing and building next-generation employer benefits solutions that reduce complexity and help manage costs for clients and partners.
- • You will collaborate closely with Product Managers and customers to deeply understand employer challenges in the competitive employee benefits landscape and translate those insights into high-quality, customer-loved software solutions.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include collaborating with stakeholders to identify customer pain points, measuring and inspecting data to drive informed decisions, and designing, testing, coding, and instrumenting new solutions using modern technologies.
- • You will strengthen engineering practices by advocating for and implementing Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), microservice architectures, and vertical slice architectures to ensure scalable, maintainable systems.
- • You will support live applications through proactive monitoring, rapid incident response, and continuous improvement efforts, ensuring high availability and performance of benefits platforms.
- • You will analyze existing systems and processes to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement, mentoring peers and fostering a culture of continuous learning within the team.
- • You will become a subject matter expert in your functional area, applying creative problem-solving techniques to resolve complex issues and independently completing work while proactively seeking feedback and ownership.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent experience
- • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on schedule
- • Strong proficiency in Angular and/or React, experience building and consuming REST APIs, and expertise in C# and/or Python
- • Experience developing cloud-native applications and services, including Docker, Kafka/event-driven design, and modern RDBMS (e.g., MS SQL, Postgres, MySQL)
- • Strong understanding of software security principles and OWASP guidelines, with a track record of writing comprehensive unit tests and test suites
- • Proficiency with Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies
- • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for staying current with modern technologies and design practices
