📋 Description

• As a Senior Software Engineer at Magical, Inc., you will build and own the systems powering AI agents that automate critical healthcare workflows such as prior authorizations and medical coding, enabling healthcare organizations to scale their top talent and improve operational efficiency.
• You will design and build backend and full-stack systems for AI agents, set technical direction for projects, improve runtime reliability through observability and error handling, and own critical services from architecture to deployment and monitoring.
• Magical is an agentic automation platform backed by Greylock, Coatue, and Lightspeed, focused on transforming the $4 trillion healthcare industry by multiplying human potential through reliable AI agents that keep people in control of high-stakes workflows.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, AI integration, and workflow automation while mentoring teammates and driving impact in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Experience building and owning backend systems deployed in production
• Strong systems design skills in distributed systems, databases, APIs, queues, async workflows, and observability
• Ability to turn ambiguous product requirements into clear technical plans
• Experience integrating AI tools or LLMs into development or production workflows
• Strong bias for action with a focus on shipping, learning, and iterating quickly
