- • Design, develop, and maintain Interactive Brokers’ Web API platform that delivers real-time services to third parties, clients, and internal client-facing applications.
- • Collaborate with business and internal teams to add new features and interfaces as required for critical financial operations.
- • Write comprehensive documentation, unit tests, and regression tests for all new API interfaces to ensure reliability and maintainability.
- • Build backend services and clients to expose internal systems through standardized, secure, and scalable APIs.
- • Provide third-level support for the Web API platform, diagnosing and resolving complex production issues in a high-availability financial environment.
- • Work with Java, Spring, and Vert.x to develop high-performance, low-latency services that handle real-time financial data.
- • Implement and consume RESTful web services following industry best practices for security, scalability, and performance.
- • Utilize WebSockets to enable real-time communication between the API platform and client systems in a Java-based architecture.
- • Manage codebase using Git for version control, branching, code reviews, and collaborative development across distributed teams.
- • Write and maintain unit and integration tests using JUnit or equivalent testing frameworks to ensure code quality and regression prevention.
- • Apply software development principles and best practices to deliver clean, modular, and maintainable code in a fast-paced financial technology environment.
- • Continuously learn and adapt to emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance platform capabilities and system reliability.
- • Participate in agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to deliver iterative improvements.
- • Maintain strong communication with cross-functional teams to align technical implementation with business requirements and client needs.
- • Contribute to system architecture discussions and technical decision-making to shape the future direction of the Web API platform.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- • Proven experience as a Java Developer with expertise in Java, Spring, and Vert.x
- • Proficiency in using Git for version control and collaborative development
- • Strong command of RESTful web services and experience designing and implementing them
- • Experience with JUnit or other testing frameworks for unit and integration testing
- • Experience with WebSockets and real-time communication in a Java-based environment
