As a Senior Software Engineer on the Agent Systems team, you will be instrumental in developing and deploying cutting-edge AI-powered agents that directly interact with and automate our internal company systems.
• This is a unique opportunity to operate within a 0-1 engineering group, meaning you'll be involved in the foundational development of a new platform. Your work will focus on dramatically increasing internal speed of execution through intelligent automation, sophisticated inference, and seamless workflow orchestration.
• You will be at the intersection of artificial intelligence, robust backend systems, and applied product engineering. The role demands a pragmatic and fast-moving approach, where rapid prototyping is encouraged, but the bar for production reliability remains exceptionally high.
• Engineers on this team are expected to move fluidly between experimentation and shipping production-ready code. You will build systems that possess the capability to reason over complex user interactions and take meaningful, automated actions across a variety of internal tools and platforms.
• Collaborate closely with a diverse range of cross-functional partners, including product managers, infrastructure engineers, and internal operations teams. • The core of your role will involve building and shipping AI-powered agent systems designed to automate complex internal workflows and decision-making paths. This includes designing and implementing sophisticated inference pipelines that can accurately reason over user interactions within our internal systems.
• You will be responsible for prototyping quickly to validate the effectiveness and behavior of agent systems. Once validated, you will then productionize these successful prototypes, ensuring they meet our high standards for reliability and performance.
• Architecting robust backend services will be a key responsibility. This involves integrating these services with multiple internal APIs and diverse data sources, ensuring seamless data flow and system interoperability.
• You will play a crucial role in defining best practices and patterns for the safe, observable, and controllable execution of AI agents. This includes establishing clear guidelines for their operation and monitoring.
• Identify and prioritize high-leverage automation opportunities by working collaboratively with stakeholders across the company. Your insights will drive the strategic implementation of agent-based solutions.
• Continuously improve the speed, reliability, and signal quality of our agent systems as their usage scales across the organization. This requires a proactive approach to performance optimization and system enhancement.
• Contribute significantly to the foundational design decisions for our new 0-1 agent platform. Your architectural input will shape the future direction and capabilities of this critical technology.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and shipping production software systems.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals, including expertise in APIs, distributed systems, data modeling, and reliability.
• Hands-on experience working with AI/ML systems, LLMs, or inference pipelines in a production environment.
• Ability to prototype rapidly while maintaining a clear path to production-grade architecture.
• Strong systems thinking skills, with the ability to reason about orchestration, failure modes, and observability.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, 0-1 environments with a high degree of ownership.
