- • Own the heart of Rogo’s AI platform: architect, build, and evolve the backend services that ingest, rank, and deliver billions of financial data points to the world’s largest banks and hedge funds every day. You will design REST and gRPC APIs that are not only lightning-fast but also battle-tested for security, compliance, and zero-downtime deployments.
- • Scale distributed crawling, ranking, and retrieval systems that process terabytes of earnings calls, filings, news, and alternative data in real time. Your code will decide which insights surface first, directly influencing multi-billion-dollar investment decisions.
- • Write secure, compliant software that meets SOC 2, ISO 27001, and financial-regulator standards while still shipping at startup speed. You will implement encryption at rest/in transit, zero-trust networking, and fine-grained authorization so our clients can trust us with their most sensitive data.
- • Champion code quality and reliability across the entire backend stack. You will introduce rigorous unit, integration, and load tests; enforce clean architecture; and mentor teammates through thoughtful PR reviews and pair programming.
- • Collaborate daily with AI researchers, product managers, and frontend engineers to translate cutting-edge machine-learning prototypes into production-grade services. You will turn experimental reinforcement-learning models into low-latency, horizontally scalable microservices.
- • Optimize performance end-to-end—from database indexing strategies to asynchronous job queues—so that queries that once took minutes return in milliseconds under peak load. You will profile, benchmark, and tune until every millisecond counts.
- • Build self-healing infrastructure on Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud-native tooling that automatically scales from dozens to thousands of nodes without human intervention. You will own on-call rotations and incident response, turning outages into post-mortems that prevent recurrence.
- • Drive technical road-mapping and architecture decisions that shape the next 10 years of finance. Your designs will become the foundation on which every future Rogo product is built.
- • Raise the bar for velocity and innovation. You will introduce new languages, frameworks, or paradigms when they give us a 10× advantage, and you will document best practices so the entire engineering org levels up.
- • Cultivate a culture of curiosity and kindness. You will run internal tech talks, open-source contributions, and brown-bag sessions that keep the team at the frontier of backend engineering and distributed systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field plus 4+ years building and scaling distributed systems in production
- • Expert-level fluency in a strongly typed language such as Rust, C++, or Java
- • Proven track record of shipping secure, compliant, high-quality backend services to enterprise or financial clients
- • Deep experience with REST and gRPC API design, protocol buffers, and asynchronous programming patterns
- • Nice-to-have: early-stage hyper-growth startup experience; contributions to open-source or world-class product organizations like Notion or Figma
