📋 Description

• Build and scale the core AI-powered product for the insurance industry using Python-based backend systems.
• Own significant portions of the backend stack, ensuring high performance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate directly with founders to define and drive the technical direction of the company.
• Operate with extreme ownership in a fast-paced, high-output environment where decisions have immediate impact.
• Work alongside a staff research scientist and a team of 7 engineers solving cutting-edge problems in AI and scalable infrastructure.
• Contribute to shaping company culture as part of the early engineering team.
• Engage in end-to-end product development, from architecture design to deployment and monitoring.
• Translate business needs from top insurance customers into robust, scalable technical solutions.
• Maintain and evolve systems that support a 10x annual revenue growth trajectory.
• Participate in technical decision-making with a founder team that includes ex-Apple AI Research, ex-YC founders, and ex-founders from successful startups.
• Work on systems used by one of the world’s top 5 insurance companies, directly impacting a trillion-dollar market.
• Drive innovation in B2B SaaS applications tailored for enterprise insurance workflows.
• Prioritize technical excellence while moving quickly in an environment with high expectations and outsized rewards.
• Communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Take initiative to identify and solve problems without explicit direction, embodying a founder’s mindset.
• Contribute to building systems that enable AI agents to transform how insurance operations are conducted globally.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building products
• Strong experience with backend systems (Python preferred)
• Clear communicator - both in person and in writing
• Bonus: background in B2B SaaS and 0 - 1 experience
• Drive, grit, and ownership
