- • As a Senior Software Engineer, Cellular at Flock Safety, you will own and significantly improve the integrated 5G connectivity solution across the entire stack, directly impacting the reliability and performance of drone-based public safety systems used by thousands of communities and law enforcement agencies nationwide.
- • You will lead advanced integration of 5G features within radio firmware, drivers, and user space, optimize multi-link performance by integrating multiple cellular radio links into a single stream, and architect cloud connectivity solutions to enhance flight reliability through KPI optimization.
- • You will take full end-to-end ownership of the cellular setup—from defining performance metrics to monitoring real-world test results—while collaborating closely with RF, Systems, Device SW, and Cloud teams to validate complex, high-stakes systems.
- • Working in a hybrid model (2x weekly in Atlanta or Mountain View), you’ll engage in hands-on lab and field testing, contributing to Flock’s mission of building a nationwide public-private safety network that prioritizes privacy and responsible innovation.
- • You will join a high-performance, low-ego team backed by nearly $700M in venture funding and a $7.5B valuation, where your technical leadership will directly influence the scalability and resilience of critical safety infrastructure.
- • In your first 90 days, you will learn Flock’s product ecosystem, integrate off-the-shelf radios into the drone-web system, extract and store radio/link statistics, architect multi-link operation, and begin designing rate adaptation for real-world cellular performance—setting the foundation for long-term impact.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- • 5+ years of experience in cellular firmware and user space design
- • Proficiency in C, C++, and Python
