- • Senior Software Engineer, Communications Platform (Backend focused) – You will design, develop, and maintain GetYourGuide’s centralized communication infrastructure, ensuring reliable delivery of customer touchpoints across email, push, SMS, and emerging channels. Your work directly impacts how millions of travelers experience timely, relevant, and seamless communications throughout their journey.
- • Day to day, you will collaborate in a cross-functional mission team with engineers, product, and data specialists to continuously improve the codebase, design scalable systems, and launch experiments that enhance customer communication capabilities. You’ll own technical leadership in architecting resilient, high-throughput services and drive improvements in CI/CD, observability, and system reliability.
- • You’ll join the Central Services group, a strategic unit that builds foundational platform capabilities powering GetYourGuide’s global operations. This team centralizes critical services like communications, localization, and merchandising to ensure consistency, scalability, and seamless experiences for travelers worldwide while enabling internal teams with robust, reusable tools.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and platform engineering. You’ll grow as a technical leader by mentoring peers, influencing cross-team initiatives, and shaping the future of GetYourGuide’s communication platform—turning complex challenges into maintainable, high-impact solutions.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of software development experience
- • High proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
- • Experience designing architecture and deployment of web applications and services
- • Experience with distributed systems and asynchronous messaging
- • Experience operating at scale, CI/CD pipelines, and a cloud DevOps/infrastructure mindset
- • Experience with stakeholder management, technical leadership, and cross-team collaboration
- • Ability to turn ideas into fast, reliable, and maintainable code
- • Positive, proactive team player passionate about their craft
- • Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision-making
- • Hands-on experience leveraging and experimenting with AI
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
