📋 Description

• Senior Software Engineer role building foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s product experience across platforms, critical for enhancing user experience through reliable APIs and simple systems.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with product teams to scope projects, optimizing existing functionality for faster loading and intelligent parsing, and shipping cloud functions and backend services using Kotlin.
• Part of the Core Experiences Team at Speechify, a fast-growing company revolutionizing audio information consumption with exponential growth and a #1 market position in its category.
• Opportunity to work at the intersection of product and infrastructure, think strategically, design clear APIs, and directly impact users including those with learning differences, while growing technical expertise in Kotlin Multiplatform and GCP.

• Ability to work quickly, generate ideas, and decide what can ship now versus what needs more time.
• Strong focus and judgment on when to engage collaboratively versus work heads down in a high-growth, remote startup environment.
• Collaboration skills to inspire, negotiate, and work effectively with opinionated designers, marketers, and product managers.
• Preferred experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable) and prior exposure to GCP as a plus.
