📋 Description

• Senior Software Engineer role on the Core Experiences Team at Speechify, building foundational services and SDKs that power the product experience across platforms, critical for enhancing user experience through reliable APIs and simple systems.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with Product Teams to scope projects and reduce scope for faster feedback, optimizing existing functionality for faster loading and intelligent parsing via efficient abstractions and improved algorithms, and shipping cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
• Speechify is a fast-growing startup (#1 in its category) transforming how people consume information through audio, with a mission to make learning easier, deeper, and faster for millions of users, including those with learning differences.
• The role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of product and infrastructure, think strategically, design clear APIs, and directly impact user experience while growing technical and collaborative skills in a high-growth, remote-first environment.

• Systems thinking with end-to-end design orientation and belief in simplicity
• Ability to work quickly, generate ideas, and decide what can ship now vs. needs more time
• Focus and adaptability in a high-growth, remote startup environment, knowing when to engage or work heads down
• Strong collaboration skills to inspire, negotiate, and work effectively with designers, marketers, and product managers
• Preferred: Kotlin Multiplatform experience (Java experience acceptable)
• Preferred: Prior experience with GCP
