📋 Description

• Build and scale high-throughput APIs and services processing 50M+ daily events for an enterprise SaaS data privacy and compliance platform.
• Own features end-to-end, from initial design and architecture to deployment and production monitoring.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and security across a distributed system serving Fortune 100 customers.
• Contribute directly to technical architecture decisions and long-term platform direction alongside a highly technical founder with two prior exits.
• Mentor junior engineers as part of a clear path to leadership roles such as Tech Lead or Director within 12–24 months.
• Work in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment with minimal bureaucracy and maximum technical autonomy.
• Collaborate on a modern web stack including JavaScript, Python, PHP/Java/C++, React, REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, and AWS.
• Ensure data privacy and governance workflows meet enterprise-grade compliance standards while maintaining high availability and scalability.
• Participate in debugging complex production issues and implementing robust error handling and observability practices.
• Engage in hybrid work model based in the DC area, with relocation support provided for qualified candidates.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and team knowledge sharing to elevate engineering standards.
• Balance rapid iteration with long-term system stability in a profitable company with enterprise contracts and sustained growth.
• Translate business requirements for data consent and secure data workflows into scalable, secure technical implementations.
• Work closely with product and compliance teams to align technical execution with regulatory and customer requirements.
• Maintain and enhance existing services while designing new components to support increasing scale and feature complexity.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and rapid response to critical incidents.

🎯 Requirements

• 6–10 years of backend or full-stack engineering experience
• Strong fundamentals in APIs, distributed systems, and debugging
• Experience with modern web stacks (e.g., JavaScript + any OOP backend)
• Comfort working in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment
• Ability to work hybrid in the DC area (relocation supported)
