- • Design and implement robust backend architectures for robot control and state management in a robotics platform
- • Build and maintain test infrastructure to ensure system safety, reliability, and compliance with operational standards
- • Develop firmware for hardware integration of robotics peripherals including cameras, grippers, and sensors using C/C++
- • Drive technical decisions around system architecture, engineering best practices, and long-term extensibility of embedded systems
- • Create reliable APIs and services that enable seamless communication and control between robotic hardware and higher-level systems
- • Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and debugging systems to support real-time robot operations and post-mortem analysis
- • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on backend architecture, system design principles, and embedded software development practices
- • Work on both new R&D hardware and production-grade robot hardware to ensure consistency, scalability, and reliability across the platform
- • Configure and optimize Linux host OS settings for real-time robotic applications and system health monitoring
- • Participate in CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to automate testing, deployment, and validation of embedded and host software
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate hardware capabilities into software features while maintaining system simplicity and performance
- • Own end-to-end development of critical infrastructure components including motor control, RTOS-based task scheduling, and system-level diagnostics
- • Apply modern software engineering practices to embedded systems, prioritizing reliability, clarity, and maintainability over technical idealism
- • Proactively identify opportunities to simplify incumbent systems and improve velocity without compromising safety or functionality
- • Operate in a dynamic environment with diverse technical backgrounds, contributing to a culture of optimism, creativity, and resourcefulness
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience working in complex software engineering environments
- • Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development
- • Experience with STM32 microcontrollers and RTOS
- • Strong background in Linux system configuration and services
- • Experience designing and implementing firmware for robotics peripherals (sensors, actuators, cameras)
- • Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
