📋 Description

• Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) at Aphex Technologies Inc. is a pivotal role focused on building and scaling the core infrastructure that powers real-time collaboration for construction teams managing billion-pound infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, and hospitals. This role directly contributes to transforming an industry that drives 10% of global GDP but has suffered from declining productivity for two decades by replacing outdated spreadsheets with intuitive, multiplayer planning tools used by industry leaders like BAM, Balfour Beatty, SKANSKA, Kier, MACE, and Murphy.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include architecting and scaling backend services for real-time data synchronization across distributed construction teams, designing and implementing WebSocket-based features for live updates, creating elegant and intuitive frontend experiences using React and TypeScript with Redux for state management, optimizing application performance to handle massive project datasets efficiently, contributing to serverless and event-driven architectures on cloud platforms, participating in rigorous code reviews to uphold engineering standards, and collaborating asynchronously with a global team while maintaining strong overlap with Philippines-based colleagues.
• The engineering team at Aphex consists of 20+ developers based primarily in the Philippines, working within a remote-first culture that values autonomy, technical excellence, and inclusive collaboration. • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in full-stack systems architecture, gain hands-on experience with real-time WebSocket applications and scalable backend services, contribute to products used in critical national infrastructure projects, and grow as a technical leader by mentoring peers, influencing engineering practices, and solving complex problems at the intersection of usability and scalability in high-stakes environments.

🎯 Requirements

• Based in the Philippines with a reliable internet connection
• Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience with strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript
• Deep expertise in React and modern frontend patterns, including experience with Redux for client-side state management
• Proven backend development skills with a track record of building and scaling production systems
• Hands-on experience with real-time applications and WebSocket implementations for live collaborative features
• Strong understanding of database design and optimization, with NoSQL experience highly valued
• Consistent history of delivering high-quality code through peer reviews, testing, and adherence to engineering best practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to thrive in asynchronous, globally distributed teams
