đź“‹ Description
- • Join Jerry.ai as a Senior Software Engineer, a pivotal role within our Core Marketplace Automation Team, where you will architect and implement sophisticated automation systems designed to revolutionize car ownership. Our mission is to make car ownership affordable, seamless, and magical through an AI-powered AllCar super app, and your work will be instrumental in achieving this vision.
- • This is a unique opportunity to contribute to software that directly impacts millions of users daily. You will be at the forefront of automating complex business processes within the insurance technology sector, shaping the future of how people interact with their vehicles and related services.
- • As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building robust automation systems that enable our users to self-serve, maintain continuous insurance coverage, and experience unparalleled smoothness in their car ownership journey. These systems will handle critical tasks such as document upload verification, policy changes, payment processing, cancellations, and renewals, with a constant drive to enhance speed, intelligence, and user experience.
- • Your contributions will extend to developing tools that automate hundreds of human agent hours, thereby enabling efficient business scaling. You will tackle a diverse range of challenges daily, gaining deep insights into both the technical intricacies and the business logic of our core products.
- • We foster a culture of "zero bureaucracy," where innovative ideas can be pitched, implemented, and deployed rapidly, often within days, without being hindered by red tape or slow-moving processes.
- • You will collaborate with a team of brilliant and supportive colleagues, including talented engineers, product managers, and data scientists, in an environment that champions challenging the status quo, fostering innovation, encouraging collaboration, and mutual success.
- • Embrace flexibility in your work, with opportunities to explore exciting projects and experiment with emerging technologies like AI LLM tools without bureaucratic delays. Our remote-friendly and flexible work arrangements are designed to support a healthy work-life balance, even allowing for international work arrangements.
- • Jerry.ai offers significant growth and learning opportunities. Engineers are empowered with substantial ownership, encouraged to "swim outside their lanes," level up rapidly, and mentor others. The team is characterized by a shared passion, deep involvement, and intense care for their work and colleagues.
- • Your primary responsibilities will include building end-to-end automation systems for complex insurance servicing tasks, such as policy endorsements, cancellations, document uploads, and reinstatements. You will also focus on initiatives aimed at reducing policy cancellations, improving renewal rates, and ensuring users always have optimal coverage.
- • You will operate within fast sprint cycles, with the goal of shipping new automations on average every 1-2 weeks, demonstrating agility and rapid iteration.
- • Compose sophisticated backend business logic that drives automation, meticulously respecting the complex rules and regulations of various insurance carriers.
- • Design and implement robust backend pipelines responsible for synchronizing customer policy data, delivering timely and critical alerts, and powering seamless re-shopping experiences for our users.
- • Optimize and scale our internal tools, analogous to an in-house "DocuSign for servicing," with the objective of minimizing agent intervention to near-zero.
- • Collaborate closely with product, data, and engineering operations teams to proactively identify and mitigate churn risks, thereby enhancing customer retention.
- • Work effectively in an asynchronous environment across multiple time zones, minimizing unnecessary meetings while maintaining strong collaboration through tools like Asana and Slack.
- • Continuously enhance our backend systems, APIs, and microservice architecture to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
- • The ideal candidate possesses at least 5 years of full-stack engineering experience, with a proven track record of building production-grade software, ideally including experience with large-scale distributed systems for consumer-facing applications.
- • While strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and systems design are paramount, prior experience with specific languages or frameworks is secondary to fundamental engineering principles.
- • You are a natural problem-solver, adept at tackling ambiguous challenges, breaking them down into actionable code, and iterating quickly to find effective solutions.
- • You demonstrate a strong sense of ownership, taking responsibility for end-to-end outcomes and proactively seeking continuous improvement for the systems you build.
- • Excellent collaboration skills are essential, with comfort in working asynchronously across teams and time zones, supported by clear and effective communication.
- • Curiosity and adaptability are key traits; you have a passion for learning, exploring new tools, and stepping outside your comfort zone to grasp the broader context of your work.
- • Our technology stack includes TypeScript, Nest.js, Next.js, React, React Native, Expo for frontend and backend; GraphQL for APIs; Postgres, DynamoDB, Clickhouse, Redis for data; and AWS, microservices, containerized services on ECS/EKS, and asynchronous processing on Lambda for infrastructure.
- • This role offers the chance to solve real-world problems at an immense scale, simplifying car ownership for millions. You'll thrive in a flexible, fast-paced, and collaborative culture that values innovation, empowers your voice, and ensures your work has immediate impact. You will tackle meaningful challenges, learn continuously, and grow alongside exceptionally talented engineers.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 5 years of full-stack engineering experience building production-grade software, with a preference for experience in large-scale distributed systems for fast-growing consumer-facing applications.
- • Strong foundational knowledge in data structures, algorithms, and systems design, which are valued more highly than specific language or framework experience.
- • Proven ability to tackle ambiguous problems, break them down into actionable steps, and iterate quickly.
- • Demonstrated ownership mentality, taking responsibility for end-to-end outcomes and driving continuous improvement of systems.
- • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively asynchronously across teams and time zones.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and potential for equity grants.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.
- • Generous paid time off and paid parental leave.
- • 401(K) plan with employer matching.
- • Wellness benefits and opportunities for professional growth and learning.
