- • As a Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack on Dave’s FlexCard team, you will play a pivotal role in launching and scaling a new credit product designed to empower financially vulnerable Americans by offering installment-based spending tools that promote financial health and transparency.
- • Your work will directly impact millions of members by shaping the core systems behind FlexCard, a daily-use credit card that splits purchases into manageable installments, helping users avoid debt cycles and gain control over their finances.
- • Day to day, you will design, build, and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript that power FlexCard features, ensuring high reliability, performance, and scalability for millions of users.
- • You will contribute across the full stack — including React for web and React Native for mobile — to deliver seamless, end-to-end product experiences that are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with Dave’s mission of financial inclusion.
- • Collaborating closely with product managers and designers, you will translate feature specifications into scalable technical solutions, participating in architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical discussions that elevate engineering quality across the team.
- • You will improve system reliability and performance through thoughtful architecture, observability practices, and metrics-driven development, while mentoring and pairing with other engineers to foster growth and knowledge sharing.
- • About the team: You’ll join a mission-driven, cross-functional engineering team building a brand-new fintech product from the ground up, operating in a virtual-first environment with strong emphasis on collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- • Dave is a purpose-led company redefining access to fair financial services, leveraging technology to serve underserved Americans with products like ExtraCash and now FlexCard, all designed to reduce reliance on predatory lending and promote long-term financial wellness.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in full-stack development within a regulated fintech context, gain experience launching products at scale, and grow as a technical leader by mentoring peers and influencing system design.
- • You’ll have the opportunity to shape engineering culture and practices in a high-growth startup environment where autonomy, accountability, and impact are valued over rote execution.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of experience building full-stack applications in a production environment
- • Strong programming experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, with proven ability to build backend systems and APIs powering consumer-facing products
- • Experience with modern UI frameworks such as React or React Native for building responsive, member-facing interfaces
- • Solid computer science fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and familiarity with monitoring, observability, and metrics-driven development
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
