- • Build, extend, troubleshoot, and fix complex heterogeneous GoLang applications and small self-contained GoLang microservices for Workato’s Recipe runtime engine.
- • Improve the execution engine for custom third-party code with focus on isolation, performance, and new feature implementation.
- • Write well-designed, testable, and efficient GoLang code that meets enterprise-grade scalability and reliability standards.
- • Integrate and interact with diverse data storage solutions including Postgres, S3, DynamoDB, Kafka, and ClickHouse.
- • Contribute across all phases of the development lifecycle, from design and implementation to deployment and maintenance.
- • Perform code reviews for teammates to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices.
- • Evaluate and propose architectural and operational improvements to existing systems to enhance performance, durability, and security.
- • Identify system bottlenecks and bugs, then design and implement scalable solutions to resolve them.
- • Maintain high standards of code organization, documentation, and automation within the backend engineering team.
- • Ensure execution engine components meet strict requirements for concurrency guarantees, atomicity, data protection, and encryption.
- • Collaborate with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones to deliver high-impact backend features.
- • Support the operational stability of a cloud-native platform used by 50% of the Fortune 500 companies.
- • Work on core infrastructure responsible for real-time orchestration of data, applications, processes, and AI workflows.
- • Participate in designing and optimizing the DSL (Domain Specific Language) used for recipe execution and event processing.
- • Monitor and enhance system performance under high-volume, low-latency conditions typical of enterprise-scale automation.
- • Apply deep knowledge of network protocols and stacks to ensure robust communication between distributed components.
- • Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to debug complex distributed systems with multiple interdependent services.
- • Help maintain automated testing, deployment, and monitoring pipelines to ensure system reliability and rapid iteration.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience building scalable distributed backend applications
- • Strong proficiency in GoLang for developing high-performance backend systems
- • Deep understanding of databases (Postgres, DynamoDB, etc.), message brokers (Kafka), and storage systems (S3)
- • Solid grasp of network protocols, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems architecture
- • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 7+ years of industry experience
- • Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong social and collaborative abilities
