- • Build, extend, troubleshoot, and fix complex heterogeneous GoLang applications and small self-contained GoLang microservices for Workato’s Recipe runtime engine.
- • Improve the execution engine for custom third-party code with focus on isolation, performance, and new feature implementation.
- • Write well-designed, testable, and efficient GoLang code aligned with enterprise-grade standards for scalability and reliability.
- • Integrate and interact with diverse data storage solutions including Postgres, S3, DynamoDB, Kafka, and ClickHouse.
- • Contribute across all phases of the development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing and deployment.
- • Perform code reviews for teammates to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to architectural principles.
- • Evaluate and propose system improvements to enhance performance, durability, atomicity, concurrency guarantees, and data protection.
- • Identify performance bottlenecks and system bugs, then design and implement effective solutions to resolve them.
- • Help maintain high standards of code organization, documentation, and automation within the Engine team.
- • Work on core components responsible for recipe execution, including DSL processing, event pulling, webhook handling, and job execution.
- • Ensure system reliability and security through robust data encryption, storage durability, and concurrency control mechanisms.
- • Collaborate with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones in a remote-first environment.
- • Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making to shape the future of Workato’s enterprise iPaaS platform.
- • Maintain and enhance the scalability of backend systems that power real-time orchestration for Fortune 500 enterprises.
- • Apply deep knowledge of distributed systems to solve challenges in high-throughput, low-latency environments.
- • Support operational excellence by contributing to monitoring, alerting, and observability practices for critical runtime services.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience building scalable distributed backend applications
- • Strong proficiency in GoLang for developing high-performance backend systems
- • Deep understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and data storage systems (Postgres, S3, DynamoDB, Kafka, ClickHouse)
- • Solid grasp of network protocols, application servers, load balancers, message brokers, and caching systems
- • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 7+ years of industry experience
- • Excellent debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
