- • Build, extend, troubleshoot, and fix complex heterogeneous Go applications and small self-contained Go microservices for Workato’s Recipe runtime engine.
- • Improve the execution engine for custom third-party code, focusing on isolation, performance, and new feature implementation.
- • Write well-designed, testable, and efficient Go code that meets enterprise-grade standards for scalability and reliability.
- • Integrate and interact with diverse data storage solutions including Postgres, S3, DynamoDB, Kafka, and ClickHouse.
- • Contribute across all phases of the development lifecycle, from design and implementation to deployment and maintenance.
- • Perform code reviews for teammates to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices.
- • Evaluate and propose architectural improvements to existing systems to enhance performance, durability, and concurrency guarantees.
- • Identify performance bottlenecks, bugs, and system weaknesses, then devise and implement effective solutions.
- • Maintain high standards of code organization, quality, and automation within the backend engineering team.
- • Work on core components of Workato’s iPaaS platform responsible for recipe execution, event pulling, webhook processing, and job orchestration.
- • Ensure data protection, encryption, atomicity, and scalability in high-throughput, distributed backend systems.
- • Collaborate with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones in a remote-first environment.
- • Participate in system design discussions and technical decision-making for critical infrastructure components.
- • Support operational excellence by contributing to monitoring, logging, and incident response for production systems.
- • Drive innovation in the execution engine to enable real-time orchestration at scale for enterprise customers.
- • Apply deep knowledge of distributed systems, network protocols, and backend architecture to solve complex engineering challenges.
- • Work with modern cloud-native architectures to power automation and AI operationalization across Fortune 500 companies.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience building scalable distributed backend applications
- • Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) for developing high-performance backend systems
- • Deep understanding of databases (Postgres, DynamoDB, etc.), message brokers (Kafka), and storage systems (S3)
- • Solid grasp of network protocols, data structures, algorithms, and distributed system components (load balancers, caching, monitoring)
- • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 7+ years of industry experience
- • Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong social and communication abilities
