📋 Description

• Own the enterprise authentication layer for Stack AI’s no-code AI workflow platform, delivering SSO via OIDC and SAML to enable customers to onboard using their existing identity providers.
• Design and implement role-based access control (RBAC) with fine-grained, query-time permission enforcement across the entire product to ensure precise control over who can access what data and functionality.
• Build and maintain SCIM provisioning and directory synchronization systems to keep user and group identities in sync with customer directories such as Azure AD or Okta.
• Develop delegated and machine identity systems including token exchange, on-behalf-of flows, service accounts, and domain-wide delegation to allow agents and automated services to act with scoped, secure authority.
• Architect and implement access governance controls including entitlement management, session and token lifecycle handling, and audit trails to ensure compliance and clean access at enterprise scale.
• Lead the end-to-end ownership of identity and access infrastructure from user sign-on through to revocation, ensuring security, scalability, and usability for enterprise administrators.
• Collaborate with product and security teams to translate enterprise compliance requirements into technical specifications for authentication and authorization systems.
• Optimize the identity layer for multi-tenant SaaS environments, ensuring isolation and correct permission boundaries between customers and their internal teams.
• Write clean, maintainable backend code in Python using modern frameworks like FastAPI to support high-throughput, low-latency access control decisions.
• Ensure the identity system meets the demands of regulated industries by enabling auditability, traceability, and granular control over user permissions and access sessions.
• Drive the adoption of enterprise-grade identity patterns across the platform, making Stack AI viable for large organizations with complex security and compliance needs.
• Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and incident response for identity-related outages or security events.
• Advocate for secure, intuitive access experiences for both end users and enterprise administrators managing permissions across hundreds or thousands of users.
• Continuously evaluate and improve the identity stack based on customer feedback, emerging standards, and threat models.
• Work closely with customer success and support teams to resolve complex identity integration issues for enterprise clients.
• Document system architecture, API contracts, and operational procedures for internal and external stakeholders.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years building backend systems, with significant time spent on identity, authentication, or authorization.
• Real depth in OIDC, OAuth2, SAML, token exchange, and multi-tenant RBAC.
• You've built or owned enterprise SSO and identity systems, with a strong grasp of identity-provider architecture and enterprise auth patterns.
• Strong in Python and modern backend frameworks (FastAPI or similar).
• You care about clean, well-architected access control and the experience of the administrators who manage it.
