- • Build and operationalize the mission-critical storage engine for Kora, Confluent Cloud’s managed service designed for high availability, performance, and low cost of ownership.
- • Design, develop, and deliver scalable, reliable, and durable distributed storage systems that serve multi-tenant workloads across public cloud environments.
- • Independently drive end-to-end execution of complex software projects from design through production deployment with a strong focus on quality and operational excellence.
- • Troubleshoot and resolve systemic issues in a complex technical stack spanning AWS, Azure, and GCP, going beyond symptoms to identify root causes.
- • Collaborate closely with engineering teams and key stakeholders to architect solutions that meet stringent performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
- • Improve system operations and automation for cloud-native infrastructure, ensuring high uptime and efficient resource utilization across all three major cloud providers.
- • Prioritize customer success by tackling their most challenging infrastructure problems and translating real-world use cases into robust technical solutions.
- • Demonstrate strong teamwork by making decisions that align with team and company goals, fostering a culture of collaboration without ego or solo acts.
- • Maintain deep technical proficiency in systems operations including disk I/O, network protocols, operating system internals, and cloud resource management.
- • Contribute to the evolution of a high-performance, resilient storage engine that underpins Confluent’s real-time data streaming platform.
🎯 Requirements
- • BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- • 2+ years of relevant cloud infrastructure or cloud networking experience
- • Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development
- • Experience building and operating large-scale systems in the Cloud
- • Solid understanding of basic systems operations (disk, network, operating systems, etc)
- • Proficiency in Java, Scala, C/C++, Go or other statically typed languages
