📋 Description

• Design, build, and evolve the citizen-developer platform that enables non-product engineering teams to safely create and operate workflows and automations without deep infrastructure expertise.
• Establish secure SDLC guardrails and compliance-by-default mechanisms for applications built by citizen developers across finance, operations, and analytics teams.
• Develop self-serve development and operations tooling to reduce dependency on central platform engineering teams and accelerate internal delivery.
• Design, build, and maintain Temporal-based workflow infrastructure to support multi-tenancy, high availability, and cost-effective execution of internal automations.
• Contribute to the Kubernetes and GitOps foundation using ArgoCD, Helm, and Terraform to ensure safe, repeatable, and auditable platform deployments.
• Partner closely with application teams and citizen developers to define tooling standards, development patterns, and paved paths for internal platform users.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and on-call rotation for workflow-related services, leading incident response and driving root-cause fixes.
• Document platform standards, best practices, and reference architectures to enable self-service adoption by non-engineering teams.
• Improve developer experience by abstracting complex infrastructure into intuitive interfaces while maintaining security, scalability, and operational reliability.
• Build and operate platform services that underpin critical business processes across Airwallex, ensuring reliability and performance at global scale.
• Translate platform constraints into clear APIs, contracts, and guidelines that empower non-engineering teams to innovate safely and efficiently.
• Use AI tools to enhance productivity, automate repetitive tasks, and solve complex technical problems with speed and rigor.
• Operate in a highly collaborative, multi-team environment with a focus on enabling others through well-designed abstractions and guardrails.
• Balance speed and rigor in decision-making, applying first-principles thinking to solve ambiguous, high-visibility infrastructure challenges.
• Drive end-to-end ownership of platform components from concept to production, ensuring long-term maintainability and observability.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Software or Platform Engineering roles, building and operating backend or platform services in production.
• Strong hands-on experience with at least one strongly typed backend language (e.g., Golang, Java) and familiarity with Python or Bash for tooling/automation.
• Experience designing and building internal platforms or developer tooling used by multiple teams with a strong focus on developer experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes and GitOps practices/tooling (ArgoCD, Terraform).
• Proven experience with Temporal or similar workflow/orchestration systems (e.g., Cadence, Step Functions, Airflow) or large-scale stateful workloads (e.g., Redis clusters, Cassandra, HBase) in production.
• Comfortable working in highly collaborative, multi-team environments, able to translate platform constraints into clear APIs, contracts, and paved paths for application teams and citizen developers.
