📋 Description

• Senior Software Engineer on the Integrations team at Pivotal Health Inc., responsible for building and owning backend systems that connect the platform to external healthcare data sources, billing tools, and partner APIs—critical to enabling providers to recover fair reimbursement in a complex healthcare landscape.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and maintaining data pipelines and APIs, working with messy real-world healthcare data (SFTP, evolving file formats, inconsistent schemas), contributing to architectural decisions, collaborating with product and stakeholders, writing reliable and tested code, and proactively surfacing risks and blockers.
• Pivotal Health is a mission-driven technology platform helping healthcare providers get paid fairly by simplifying reimbursement workflows through AI-driven software, data, and service integration; the company is solving systemic underpayment issues in healthcare with a focus on clarity, control, and confidence for providers.
• In this role, you will gain deep expertise in healthcare data integrations, influence technical architecture in a fast-moving startup environment, own end-to-end delivery of impactful systems, and grow as a self-directed engineer who bridges technical execution with product and stakeholder needs.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend focus
• Solid understanding of backend fundamentals: system design, data modeling, API development, and service reliability
• Experience building or maintaining integrations with third-party APIs, data pipelines, or external enterprise systems
• Comfortable working with database-heavy systems and messy, real-world data
• Self-directed and proactive: able to identify problems and drive them to resolution with minimal oversight
• Strong communicator who surfaces ambiguity early and collaborates effectively across functions
